DJ'ing Rituals
This is an offspring of the DJ'ing buzz thread.
Just curious if you have any rituals you perform every time you spin? My three are as follows:
1. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS chew gum! Two pieces of Juicy Fruit.
2. Always turn right deck on first, then cd player, then left deck, then mixer, then monitors. At close of session it's always reverse.
3. Always reset pitches, gains, faders to original position.
One other thing I do is record to Minidisc and review my session while at the gym but, I don't consider that a ritual.
Interested to see what you other guys do.

I turn on the mixer first, then the M3D (on the right), and the MK2.
Usually I just mix through the headphones but when I do use my speakers, they are turned on before or after everything else. 
And yeah, most of the time I would reset the pitch and faders and knobs to default too~
No special chewing gum or mint yet... although I can see why that would be useful
I always wear shoes, if not then I can't mix for s*%t... maybe it has something to do with feeling the vibration of the bass through the floor... I also always wash my hands before I mix, can't think of anything else right now
I have a lucky record- Always present in my bag
And i do something else too- every night without fail.
but im not telling anyone as its too embarassing.lol
Always go pee (playing for 4 hours sometimes more a night gives you a really really strong bladder lol) and have clean hands, and im always chewing gum.
Im sure there are some other freaky things too

Speaking of MILFs.... I live in this nice apartment complex in the middle of the Medical District and I have to see all these rich young doctors and their hot wives day in and day out. I shoulda went to Med school....

always buy gatorade from 7-11 before... always put headphones around my neck first.
My cueing always goes like this:
1. before bringing in tune new tune in headphones full vol
2. take off headphones bring in new tune
3. get pissed off cos I can still hear headphones and I'm not hearing exactly whats going out
4. turn down headphones vol
5. at some point not sure if it's out and want to hear whats going in
6. put on headphones (normally more hold them to my ear half hangging off) pissed off agin this time becuase headphones vol is off.
7. put up vol
8. listen to one beat.... guess what no help it's still in as always....
I do that whole thing every time!

I always open my window when i'm spinnin', dunno why. I hardly ever spin when its raining

Well i always gotta have my window open so that im playing to the intire street i live on (iv gotten 4 complants so far 3 of which were from people not in my own building) i have to wear shoes and my arm band and watch, oh and im always timeing it. i currenty do 2 1:30 mins sets a day, i think the reason i have to wear shoes is becouse it gets damn unconfertable standing up for 90 minuits at a time lol
Make sure I have Traktor DJ Studio set up right.

although I've not yet spun at a niteclub yet, I'd prolly get into these rituals.....
1. drink a Bacardi Silver befoer I start (I just love that drink when ice cold)
2. Chew Dentyne Ice Shiver gum
3. check that both sides of the cue and all players/TTs are working right.
4. reset all EQs flat, input gains at 9-o-clock
5. wash hands before starting my set
At home, befoer spinning, # 3,4,5 al apply, and I also always practice between 3 of my newest records before doing any recorded sets.
