Ok, I've decided to get a serious setup now

Ok, what do you consider of this custom set up?

2x http://www.djmart.com/tecsl12mk2.html

1x http://www.djmart.com/seehhe.html

1x http://www.djmart.com/bepromidj.html

That's all for now. What else do you recommend?

You could just reply to one of your old threads instead of making a new one every time...

Posted by Kamikaze Badger on May-29-2004 18:00:

But i deleted my old threads...

That setup will do fine for now. The tables are perfect. The headphones I haven't heard about. The mixer... leaves quite a bit to be desired, I'd expect to upgrade within a year or two if you get it. Behringer stuff isn't exactly quality, but then again, if you have to skimp on a component, I'd rather it be a mixer than the tables.

Go with the Sennheiser HD-280's... I have them, I like them, and they are cheaper than the ones you posted.

well i was origionaly talking about the first one but if your askinga bout those stantons they suck a dead mans balls, dont get anything from stanton under 80 i have 100's and their kicks ass but the 30s will justt blow. The mixers allright jeadphones again avarage

I'd say save up some cash by selling some descent Technics beating turntables (st-150 clones) like akiyama acura's or synq xtrm-1 or something. Use the cash to get a better mixer and you're set and you won't need to upgrade for a few years (maybe the mixer afterwards if u've got too much money)

The only DJ stuff I have is Traktor DJ Studio, which sucks balls. I need to find something to make money.

Don't go into this thing with the intention of making money off it. You won't get nearly as far if it's your main motivation man.

Well than my friend, you chose the wrong hobby for the wrong reasons.

Posted by Kamikaze Badger on May-29-2004 23:00:

I don't want to DJ for money(much). I mainly want to do it because it's something I've always wanted to do(since septembar last year). I'm going to get something up for freelancing, make some money off of that.

Posted by Vlad on May-29-2004 23:06:

Let me put it this way... your not gonna be making much money unless you have club residencies or your pvd. You either do it because you love it, or dont do it at all.

Posted by Wildfir3 on May-30-2004 08:03:

yup, it's pretty much all about fun. I don't think i would enjoy it as much if i "had" to spin every friday/saturday night. Then again i wouldn't know shit since i've never spinned in front of an audience

Do you think that's a good deal for the SL1200MK2?

Look at those.

I don't know why you're buying the MK2 for $500 plus shipping at djmart. You can get the MK5 for much less, and the MK2 for maybe a little bit less than the MK5. I bought my MK5's from www.bestpriceaudiovideo.com. I bought them one at a time, about 3 months apart... the first one cost me $451 including shipping, the second cost me $437 including shipping. Their service is professional and their shop has very good customer ratings. The MK5 still sells on their site for $412, which imo, is a downright f*cking bargain. The MK5G is even under five hundred dollars at $493!

My advice, if you're set on getting technics, you might aswell get the MK5 instead of the MK2 because the price difference is miniscule, and I have even often seen stores selling the MK2 for more than the MK5. $412 is a damn good price.

Posted by Psiweaver on Jun-15-2004 18:02:

You could always get used decks if money is tight. The technics like never die so if your looking for a set of them you should be fine getting a used set.

Posted by cryo on Jun-15-2004 18:37:

mk5 405 plus shipping

just print this out and go to guitar center and get it pricematched. and your set!

edit: just add it to your cart and print, you know the deal
