producers with alter ego's

i was just listening to bart van wissen.. and couldn't believe that he was fictivision as well.. it seems that he has a very proggy side to him as while he produces epic trance under fictivision

i know oakenfold is diverse and good at that with his perfecto productions and his oakenfold releases.

im sure there are more producers who dip into other genres

please feel free to list and discuss!

I have a hard time thinking of producers who don't have any alter ego's...

Take M.I.K.E. or L-Vee for example... they've produced just about all EDM genres there are...

David Forbes produces trance, house, prog and hardcore

Very similar to Perry O'Neil. Under his own name very proggy yet as half of St John vs Locust (him being Locust) its pure uplifting trance.

Well I don't believe an artist is a true artist if he/she can only do 1 style.

I come from a breakbeat background myself so it's natural for me to take influences from just about everything and mash them together.

Pete Namlook - more genres than most, more aliases than most 75+ and some genres with no names yet.

And they've done a hell of a job.

check out the list of aliases at the top of the forum (i think its a sticky in Music Discussion?)

That has a huge list of producer/DJ aliases that might interest you.

They've done drum 'n' bass too? Really? Because I don't recall, but please refresh my memory because I must be missing something here

That's because they haven't

Carl Cox's alter-ego is the nefarious Kingpin!

mild-mannered techno DJ by day
diabolical crime baron by night! although he DJs at night too....dammit

I guess that would make Cor Fijneman "The Blob," and Armin would be uh...Aqua Man or something...
lol
Im bored as all hell

Posted by Torley Wong on May-31-2004 00:02:

Yeah... I hear another one of Carl Cox's alter egos is Teal'c from the SGC...

Not really in the electronic genre, but David Bowie takes the alter ego trend to the extreme! Who remembers Ziggy Stardust?

It would be quite funny to see a big-name trance producer follow the footsteps of Bowie, i.e. the character, mystery, public persona, etc.

Ya think? Yeah... well, Marilyn Manson's done it for Industrial Rocky stuff... but yeah... hmmm that's a good question... bound to happen sooner or later. Some of those Electroclash guys adopted loud personas but that's different.

just call him

TRANCEPANTS INCOGNITO!!!
THE RAVING SUPERHERO!!!

oh... but for House music... you've got Felix The Housecat as DEVIN DAZZLE... no kidding... so trance can't be that far away
