Remember, these arent the times of propaganda driven, brainwashed citizens, of nazi Germany.

Nobody is telling them what to think and do.

Posted by DJ_Lord on May-30-2004 19:55:

I find that Ad extremely disrespectful. I dont care if you don't agree with what Bush is doing, he is still the President of the United States of America!

you're right. these are times of propaganda-driven American governments telling its citizens what to think and do...

how much fucking respect is bush and the military giving the rest of the world. they go invade another country and they call those people who attack our soldiers there terrorists???? what the fuck is that. its their country, their land. they are defendants. bush is completely ruining america's reputation. if you didn't know already, the reason everyone else in the world hates us americans is because MOST of you are so ignorant and have no idea about anything else outside your stupid lil suburban lives....

keep in mind i said most, not all.

it comes with the territory. If you're the leader of the free world and you fuck up bigtime, you deserve it.

Yea, he is the President of the USA... and it's great that in many nations today, people can openly criticize political leaders like him with no fear of repercussion. Unlike in many oppressive governments of the past... and many governments that continue today...

DJ_Lord:

In 1762, the famous French thinker/philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau wrote a political treatise called The Social Contract . To put this all in context, it's pretty much the Eve of the French Revolution, and people aren't happy. The French king is practicing the two hated doctrines of Absolutism and Divine Right of Kings. In his treatise, Rousseau says that the Monarch (or ruler, in this case the President) is responsible for the people and that what he does is for the amelioration of the state and the population of his country. In addition, Rousseau said that if they people are not pleased with the actions taken by their leader, they have the right and the responsibility to revolt. In our day and age, they are no more plebeian revolutions, but we have the right and the responsibility to "revolt" against our leader, especially because of the fact that, unlike a monarch, the president is an ELECTED official. He is elected by THE PEOPLE, the same people that Rousseau described in his treatise.
Now, I'd like you to take a long, hard thought about why we don't live in a neo-fascist society, and I'd like you to thinka bout how lucky you are that you can speak up against your leader.

we overthrew a terror regime in iraq that needed to be overthrown. the attrocities needed to end. I think the US is pretty fucking heroic for stepping up to the plate and getting it done.

if you don't think that the terror regime in iraq needed to be dissolved, than your ignorance is one thousand fold of that of president bush.

by the way, yeah, a lot of americans are ignorant, but so are most people in every other country. i would know, having traveled around the world several times.

Posted by DarkAngel on May-31-2004 17:05:

I like that ad. I can't stand what the 'president' has done for this country and I sooo hope he gets voted the fuck out of office.

again. iraq has no ties to al-qaeda whatsoever. one of the MANY untruths that bush would like u to believe. read major media stories, richard clarke's book "against all enemies", etc etc. what was bush influenced by? perhaps the iraqi nationals who were exiled? maybe securing oil in the region? no one will ever really know. but the war on terror should've been continued in AFGHANISTAN and not iraq. that's where the real "terror regime" was, and still is. we could've hit al-qaeda hard there, and not spread our troops thin. instead we've incited the rise of pockets of terror cells in the world with our stay in iraq. we've had no reason to be there in the first place and now our image in the international community has been tarnished. i suppose the war in iraq's justified for that reason

Posted by DaveSZ on May-31-2004 17:21:

Sept 11th was perpetrated by Al Qaeda, so let's attack Iraq.

Sounds logical to me.

actually most people in other countries are MUCH more savvy when it comes to world affairs than americans. I would know that as I have lived in and visited countless countries.
