Sasha @ Cardiff Uni, 29th May
Sasha turns up over an hour late, starts his set with Invisible Inc. then plays out an hour of breaks, then comes the 4/4 and he plays a few blinders, some had a real electro feel. around 1.15 the track started skipping then stopped altogether, so after a pause he restarts the track but exactly the same thing happened again, with that Sasha grabs the CD from the drawer and flung it into the crowd (he was pissed off) So then he starts another track which builds up nicely then WHSSSSSSSSSSH, he stopped the record and fucked off out the back leaving some geezer to try and sort out some kind of music, lol. Turns out that the CD hit some bird on the head and cut her quite badly, had to go to hospital for stiches!!

jesus, couldnt he just have fast forwarded the track a little instead of restarting it. he's lucky that disc didnt hit her in the eye, stupid guy.

Hmmm.... you make it sound bad, but I'm willing to be forgiving. For how long was Sasha scheduled to play and how soon did he cut the set short by walking out?
In regards to throwing the CDR, I think it's okay to throw CDs into the crowd, but you obviously have to be quite careful how you toss it, so that the CD flies outwards long enough for folks to see it coming, as opposed to just tossing down at the crowd so they're suddenly caught off guard.

If I'd known Sasha was playing at Cardiff Uni, I would have been straight down there, as I've got a mate who's studying there. As it turns out, I'm glad I didn't. Man, what's he playing at?? I would have got a refund if he didn't come back and continue playing. And that girl should slap him.

that is pretty rediculous. The guy just took off? Did the club offer any kind of refund? Did anybody even ask for one? I will definatly be going to see him next month, hope he doesnt let the equipment get to him

Rumours are that he got arrested, the girl got a free cd off Sasha, and he turned back up just before closing to pick his records up looking very depressed with himself!
We left after he walked off though and these are just rumours.

You guys don't know how frustrating shit like that can be, especially in front of a couple thousand people who are there to see no one but you...as far as him dumping his equipment in a pool, everyone knows it was because the fucking promoter was recording his set on MD and refused to give it to Sasha. What he did was completely justified, I mean he shouldn't have left early but its understandable.
