Dub? As in, no vocals? :S

Technically, an Instrumental is no vocals, a Dub usually strips/limits the vocals while integrating new sounds.

And not to be confused with dub as a style of music, which actually is a heavily-effected, effects-soaked kind of instrumental reggae music. Mad Professor and King Tubby are two fine examples.

But the "dub" in trance as in a "dub mix" means the same thing -- no vocals, or vocals re-arranged in a minimal way.

exactly. the actual dub genre is great. last thing i heard was Dub Side of the Moon, which re-interprets the Pink Floyd classic with roots flavah.

Dub= Higher notes/frequencies of track removed. Nothing to do with how many vocals there are or how they are used.
