YOUR Dream Final

Ok if you could have a choice between the most ideal final for this year's Euro2004, who would you choose?

For Me, Definetly: Spain vs. Italy!!!!! Raul vs. DP, Valeron vs. Totti, Buffon vs. Casillas......with every bragging right on the line for the next millenium! It gives me goosebumps just thinking about how this final would be, seeing the streets in Madrid, Milan, Rome, Seville ect just packed and more emotion than any other game could produce.

And your opinions?

England vs Germany

So much controversial football history between the two nations - England '66 (England controversially win World Cup Final against Germany), Italia '90 (Germany beat England in World Cup Semi-Finals on penalties), England '96 (Germany again beat England in Semi-Finals and again on penalties, in England), Munich '01 (England beat Germany 5-1, in Germany) etc etc.

To be honest it'd be even more satisfying if it went to penalties and we won

definitely England vs. Germany, with England winning about 10 nill. I don't think the Germans are good enough to make it past the quarters though, so it probably won't happen.

What was controversial about 1966? I have the DVD and that ball was clearly over the line. Oh, and there was no doubt about the fourth goal from Hurst.

Spain - Netherlands would be my dream final, but I think any final would be great if:

1 - Spain is in it, and
2 - Italy is not finalist (I don't like their defenssive style, they have great attackers but prefer to play with lots or defenders...)

And just because you don't like their defensive style means they won't get to the final.. I think not.

Italy have built there team from the back and at times it's boring, but they have brought with it success in previous world cups. I think if spain took some tips from italy's defense then they'd maybe have been as successful as the azzuri. Besides I think this year the italians will have a much stronger attack and they will also utilise it to gerater effect

Don't expect any sexy football from us. There will be highlights with the skill of people like Zlatan, Larsson and Wilhelmsson, but thats not what Swedish football is about. We fight hard and win the matches with players who have alot of heart, not with flair. We don't direct the matches, we follow. Thats why we are quite successful against big teams with the pressure on them, while we often get disapointing results against teams like Lativia and can beat hobby teams like Luxemburg only 1-0. We haven't lost against England since the fifties in 10 games for example. That would be my dream final btw
I'm really optimistic about this EC, but I think that if we met a team like Spain they would kill us with all their creative players. But hope is the last thing that abandons you

Unknown (kind of) players to watch:

Andreas Isaksson (GK/Djurg�rden) 22 years old and I think he will get his real breakthrough this summer. Tall and has great reflexes. He's going to move from my beloved team after the championship for sure.

Christian Wilhelmsson (Winger/Anderlecht) Fast, technical winger who broke in to the squad late and has made a big impact in the last few international games. Zlatan is trying to get Ajax to sign him.

Kim K�llstr�m (CM/Rennes) Great overall player. Hailed as the most talented player since Zlatan. Great vision, passing, shot, freekicks and works hard. A bit slow though, this competition will show if he is as good as I think he is. According to reports he's done very well in the French league.

Sorry if this post got rather long, I just can't get this bloody tournament out of my head. Nine more days!!

Any final without Germany will do really, their soccer is quite uninspiring to say the least...

I think England can hold France to a scoreless draw...or maybe 1-1. France may disappoint a lot of people, though I won't be surprised.
