Question Hard house: love it or hate it???

Do u either like or hate hard house? Personally I don't mind it but a whole set of it would be too much, it's good when it's mixed in with trance/hard trance but still, it just doesn't compare with trance. Hard house has no soul or emotions in it like trance and really it's only good for energy and a good banging! Hard house is good fun but it's definately not something i can appreciate. what do u think of it?

Posted by Ckerr812 on Sep-06-2001 13:27:

I like it, but it's not as good as trance.....I have to be in the right mood to enjoy it.....it's great for dancing, but listening to well at home it dosen't really do it for me.

Hard house has no "feeling".
I have some vinyls of hard house but i only see a little mountain of dust...
Hard house dont excite me.
I have a friend who has a radio program and he only play hardhouse. "I want adrenaline" he said.
I want more than that : Music with soul.

Dumb, boring, sooo last year...

I'll have hard techno or hard trance instead....

I like it. Don't love it or hate. Sometimes I listen a song of Marco V or a set or something. Or Tom Harding. But not all the time. Trance all the way

Posted by Lost on Sep-06-2001 18:06:

it depends on the setting. i love trance cuz like everyone says it's emotional and has feeling. but if i'm to stay up all night and dancing away then i enjoy it when the dj throws in an hour or two hardhouse set cuz it definitely keeps the energy levels high. but i would have to say the best is hard trance cuz it has the banging bass and the emotions to boot. can't argue with that. but my favorite has to be progressive trance (?). don't know if it's a real classification but that's what everyone tells me. those tracks are pretty sweet. also love tribal. anyways...

here's my two cents

I like GOOD Hard House. I just find that it isn't as widespread as trance nor as popular so finding GOOD songs becomes quite a choir. Where trance there seems to be a good song daily, Hard House is few and far between. Too much crappy Hard House. I think if producers like Tiesto, PVD, Picotto ect...... got into Hard House, then there would be tunes galore that we all would be lending an ear to because there would be quality Hard House tunes.

my two cents worth

I personally fund of any music that have hard beats and a bassline that fits

Hardhouse is not as interesting as Trance. It's great for variety, but too much of it can give you a headache.

I recently ordered Jon Bishop's new CD, Global Hardhouse, and I find that I can only listen to about a quarter of it at any one time.

thats so true too with myself. i got a freebie of lisa lashes lshed cd and only once have i ever been able to listen all the way through. that was through difficulty and not really paying attention to the music. otherwise i have never been able to listen to all of it at one time

It's not really exciting... Nevertheless Tom Harding is a good DJ...

On sunday I saw rachel auburn spin at the edge in washington DC. friggin fantastic.... I had been stright partying since thursday night and was drained but as soon as that first track hit my body came to life, I bounced till I had nothing left. Trance just doesn't do that to me. It gets my arms movin but not the entire body. Hard House just get's my entire body moving like nothing else. But alot of it depends on my mood I reckon and what I've taken, on sunday it was just the music that got me movin. When rollin' I like to listen to trance and just float the glowsticks along my body. When I'm sober I prefer something a bit harder to dance to so I can break out more drops and spins. But who knows, they both put a smile on my face and get me movin and to me thats all that matters : )

Hardhouse is good when it's with a set of trance, but only commercial hard house....I couldn't stand too much of it. But i don't know what you guys are goin on about, when you say you absolutly hate it. It's not that bad, but yea only good when it's mixed with some good trance. Can't beat trance

90% of Hard House is toilet waste in my opinion.

Posted by tu_face on Sep-06-2001 22:04:

its very hard to find quality hard house now... its all bouncy and full of hoovers now... tony de vit knew what he was doing, but it seems a lot of the newer artists have lost the plot... even fergie is nowhere near as good as he used to be.

BK is the man... him & chris C are probably the best two artists on the scene now.. bk - here it is is pure quality on a stick.. one of his utha trax (baddest mutha) is another one of my faves...

c'mon u lot.. u cant tell me tony de vit - the dawn dont send shivvers down ur spine! hard house used to have soul.. but now its all the same.. 2 hours at a time is the way i can hear it... that is unless its after hours muahahahaha

Posted by Trance Outlaw on Sep-06-2001 22:37:

I hate hard house but to say that it has no emotion is quite extreme.

Posted by Rich on Sep-07-2001 01:30:

yeah - gotta admit the dawn is a quality track...but it's a RIPOFF of signum - what u got 4 me - a classice TRANCE track

anyway - i can not stand Hard House - it just awful ,just full of THE most irritating noises, the tunes barely have any melodies at all, and when they do - LOL!! Utter non musical drivel haha!!

really makes me laugh hard house does!! its appalling!!!

Posted by Eugene on Sep-07-2001 01:33:

But still, I want to recommend a GREAT hardhouse tune:

E-Wok - "Go Back"

That song ROCKS. It has a cool melody and a great build-up. If you can find it, get it!

Posted by tranceDJ on Sep-07-2001 02:19:

I don't like it much especially the name. Why Hard House, it doesn't have much to do with actual house at all. Maybe 'hard techno' would fit better, i dunno but the name is still pretty stupid IMO.

Once in awhile I'll find a hard house track that is good but not often...it doesn't nearly have the substance trance does.

hard house

hell i love hard house
its freaking bangin
love to hear the bass beating the dance floor
