I've tried ftp under same setup and couldn't get it to work so I just used windows 2000 Web server instead and it worked like a charm.

There is also no shame in not giving a damn whether every word you type is spelled immaculately, or if every sentence you use comes off in a way such that all who experience the great glory that is your spoken and/or written word think that you are among the best and brightest individuals to grace the face of the earth. bitch.

EDIT:

depending on what you want to do in my case i wanted to share files so setup a web server instead and give it directory access, that way you can access files directly from a web browser. If your not running an OS with a built in web server download apache.

ps pay no heed to menedit he's just your standard internet prick.

SpeedStream 2624

But i have all of that down, i just need to know how to configure the server software. im downloading apache right now
gonna try that out

Are you trying to run an FTP server or a Webserver?

Posted by Transporter on Jun-01-2004 02:22:

If all you want is the ftp server then you can use the one that comes with XP Professional but for a web server igottaknow is right that Apache is better but i'll assume that you only care about an FTP server.
It is easy once you know how but it's even easier for me to find a link on the net so here is is. good luck :P

Serv-U FTP off of downloads.com is great. You dont have to set anything up really. It does it all for you. Then get a client such as Leech or CuteFTP or Bullet or whatever. Then crack the demos.
