It is almost impossible to make money from your home. I've tried. Most "make money at home" programs are scams. Basically, to make any real money, you would have to join a good affiliate program (very few good ones exist.) With an affiliate program, you sell a companies products and make commisions. IMO, it is WAY more trouble than it is worth.

Here's a site with tons of links to affiliate programs.
Disclaimer: Most of them are crap.

If I were you, I would just look for a higher-paying job.

^^^ True. I disregarded ebay in my previous post, and it is a great way to make money; especially if you have things lying around that you don't need.

Many people who are actually successful in the affiliate business also use ebay as their platform. It's just a matter of finding a product to market that thousands aren't already trying to sell.

First off I invest all my savings in stocks... although people consider it gambling, its really not if you do your research about a company. For instance here's what I do before I purchase stock I first think about what out there is looking good. (Sirius looks good as they have bids with Honda, Toyota, and Nissan to begin installing thier units in all models) Its easy as a consumer to see what sells at the moment. THis narrows down the field by a huge margin, take it down to like 3 or 4 companies you think will fair well based on a hunch. Then request information from the company concerning thier performance, look at whats avaible from online brokers. It should narrow it further down to one good buy. Using this I found out american outfitters had accrued a high amount debt in a short amount of time, although my gut told me it was doing well. Turns out it was good debt from investing in building 11 new stores to open simultaniously. Well in a period of about 3 weeks the stocks jumped over 300%, I more than trippled my money in a month. Remember the more you know b4 you buy the more you minimize risk.

Ebay has been forementioned but people really didn't give you any ideas of where to start. Well...vintage clothing is a definate way to go my friend in LA is living soley off of money he makes by selling shit that he buys at garage sales and goodwill. He buys retro, hipster, emo, looking shit tags, retro, hipster, emo in the item description. AND makes a KILLING!!! This shits easier to spot than let say antiques, i don't watch enough antique road show to know motherfucking whats worth what. ALso someone mentioned affiliates, this is good, you can tag you bid item to a website of your choosing, like something that promotes mutual interest such as your DJ website, I don't know if you do that or not but fuck it thats what I'd do. THen get affiliates from best buy or some shit if your worried that its a scam and every time someone buys shit offa thier site and clicked on your link thats money in your pocket.

I see another way you could easily score some cash. That is to sell cigarettes...Last time I was in that area I noticed taht ciggs. cost about 6 a pack. and 7 to 8 a pack in NYC. Try going to yessmoke.com or tobaccoteds they are trust worthy and will get thier shit out fast. I use them here in washington ciggs costs 5 dollars a pack. I sell them to my friends. WIth priority shipping you can buy a carton of even the most premmuim shit like Cartier, Davidoff, Cohiba for about a 1.25-1.50 a pack. COmbine cheaper TAX FREE prices with conveinience and we can see potential for bank. Even outdoing the store by a dollar can bring you custies.

Another easy way specific to your area is the fact that you live near NYC, the last time I was in that area I purchased a wad of shit from China town. If you know what the fuck your doing then you can purchase exact knockoffs for pennies on a dollar. Since thier shit isn't even legit you can always ask for a discount I brought tons of knock offs back to where I lives in seattle and turned them at around 50-60 a pop, I purchased them at a mere 4 dollars each. Watches are shit and expensive but you can't go wrong with wallets if you know what the real deal looks like.

Importing, get a business liscence, in my state its about 10 dollars. Takes about 10 minutes worth of paper work if that. Anywyas then you take your liscence and go to a port. You can find one easily b/c you live near the coast. The east side is typically known to do business with europe, and the west coast is typically known to do business with asia. However this isn't always tru..so go to your port authority and talk to them about what kind of shit goes through there. THen you can find the source and purchase shit at cost. You can even find companies that will make shit for you this way if you want to get creative. Then build a website or use ebay sell sell sell...

Then there's grants....
