Lettuce with tomatoes, onions, some tunafish, olive oil, pepper.
Together with some bread (brown bread to be more healthy)

Eat lots of salad! Salad is really good for you, and it can taste great if you have the right ingredients. For example, you can make greek salad with olives, lettuce, tomato, onion and fetta cheese (its the white goat's cheese). I love greek salad.....
Also, do you like asian food? It can be very easy to cook stir frys and they are really healthy. All you need is some meat, a little olive oil in the pan/wok and some nice fresh vegetables like capsicum, peppers, tomato, carrots or celery. You can also usually buy pre-mixed vegetables in the supermarket to just throw into the wok without having to prepare it yourself.
ya, asian grub tends to kick a lot of ass
stir frys it is!

Just focus on these and you'll be fit as a horse:
-Exercise: Eating well is great and all, but if you want to live long you need to be in really good shape with a good, fast metabolism. The two go hand in hand, really.
-Lots of protien in every meal: Can't stress this enough. Especially at breakfast. A good dose of protien in the morning (like 50g or was it mg? whatever) will raise your bloodsugar and keep it there all day, giving you plenty of energy. Unlike heavy carbohydrate intake, which just gives you busrts of energy. I heard that you should be getting one g (or mg, can't remember, whatever it says on the back of a food label) per pound of body weight per day. Salmon is probably the best way to get protien, becuase it also has omega fatty acids (more on that in a second). Protien bars/shakes are fine as long as they arent chock full of sugar.
-Plenty of vegetables: Duh. Raw is best. Soy sauce makes a good condiment. Just experiment with them, find what you like.
-Little sugar: While it may seem obvious to lay off the cake and chocolate, you should also be cutting back on sugar all together. And you'll often find a lot of it in things you'd otherwise consider healthy. Store bought flavored yogurt is usually full of it. So are fruit juices. If you wan't yogurt do what I do: buy fresh berries/fruit (berries are expensive, but you can buy em frozen in big bags and they taste just about as good when thawed well), put a bunch into some PLAIN yogurt (the kind with absolutely zero flavor - it will taste like ass by itself), and mix it together with as much honey as to make it tasty. Honey is a pretty good sugar substitute anyways.
-Little carbs: Everyone's riding the low carb bandwagon these days... you don't have to pass up the bread at every restaraunt, just dont go overboard.
-Vitamins: Get basic vitamin supplements. Whatever you need. Also see if you can find Omega 3 fish oil capsules. Omega 3 does something like counter balance carbohydrates in the cells which otherwise do more harm than good. I can't remember exactly but it's worth your money (and they aren't very expensive, I get em in big huge bottles from Sams Club). It also is supposed to help your skin out a lot.
-Juicing: You might want to look into getting a good juicer. Not the stupid little things that you smash an orange over - a real, motorized juicer that will shred a carrot like a piece of paper. Apparantly when you eat a fruit or vegetable, you're only getting 10% of its nutrients by digesting it directly. But the juice will give you just about all of the nutrients, since they are much easier to digest and have been seperated from the fiber (something like that). I juice myself and it does definately make a difference. 3 parts carrot and 1 part apple is a simple, good combo. You can experiment all you want, but usually carrots are a good base for just about anything because theyre healthy and taste pretty good when juiced.

it has to taste good or I'll be pissed the rest of the day
non fat cottage cheese is easily one of the best snack foods out there. high in protein, and very good for you. combine it with some fruit slices and its a tasty snack. non fat cottage cheese really doesnt taste gross, and you'll find once you are used to it, anything more fatty tastes nasty!
also, skim or low fat ricotta tastes really good with some pear slices or fruit slices.
