I'm heading off to Queen's University next year for Commerce. Anyone here at Queen's or in Kingston, or know what the music scene is like down there?

ya man I go there... you're out of luck when it comes to music, so might as well enjoy it while you're in TO.

Damn. I might be DJing for a few house parties though next year. What year are you going into, and what subject?

Hey there, I live in Kingston!! If you're a trance dj, sorry hun, you're right outta luck for spinning at parties here. People are either into house, hip hop or top 40 shit. There's one nice club that I love called Tango, but its a house club, so basically the music scene sucks here.
But good luck with school, maybve I'll see you out sometime....

^^^^ Yup what she said !! There are about 10 TA's in kingston, that I know of, and maybe one trance event a year. lol. We do have some guys that run an online vinyl store though, if that means anything.

I would be going into 4th year eng, but that's postponed cause I'm doing an internship now, so I won't be back to Queen's until September 05

never met any of you TA's from kingston. Moved here recently form the GTA....I occassionally spin at Tango on Wednesdays. Usually there saturdays too for drinks, as it's the only place in the city you can find house music. All other weekends, it's back to the t dot.

Maybe we can have some sort of TA get-together or something there. As for DJing at parties, my brother has a house near the Uni this year and will probably get me to play for some parties.

Sadley there is no music in this town
You have your hip hop/dance scene at the bars. There is one bar, Tango, that plays the closest thing to good music in this city, but its not Trance!

We have an after hours club, that opens and shuts down all the time....like PartEgurl said, there are like 10 TA's here in town.......to listen to music you will need to head to TO or MTRL like the rest of us....

That's a wonderful idea !! Except I am only here for the summer months, in am in Ottawa for the winter. So the TA count goes down to 9. lol

i used to live in kingston when i was in highschool. Nice place to grow up but... muscially it blew. there was this one big party at this hotel once and then the police came and broke it up.

Max graham played there though. Also max graham got his start at this dive of place in kingston called the tropicana.

Bet you didint know that.

Ya give up on the musical side other then my friend peter ( dj synergy) there are no worth while trance djs.

good university and lots of other stuff to do. good thai boxing club do that.

I had meant to get it back up a lot earlier, but life happened, so what are you gonna do

just to let you guys know...another house night has been added in Kingston. 4Play Fridays at the Vault (basement level of the Peel Pub). This Friday (July9th) is DJ Manolo and Maxx Scholz. Hope to see you out.

Well a meeting place has been finalized for people going from Kingston.
It's a rough meeting point, but we're looking at the area in the map below that's highlighted in RED



If there actually are any kingston people on the TA board going, I'd best see you there

im sure ill see some of you up there at some point, hopefully we can make some kind of meet up.

Im usually up like 3-4 times a semester for weekends. I have a bunch of friends from highschool who live there, so im always up visiting!

any of you spin up there?
