Speculation on George Bush's VP choice for 2004

I know many people think Bush will still want Cheney to be his running mate for the election this year. However, I came to think that maybe Bush will not. A history teacher at my school made an interesting point, saying that if Bush really wants to seal the election in 2004, he'd probably have to choose Rudy Guliani, which makes sense because he did show tremendous leadership during 9/11. However, do you guys think Bush would be capable of replacing his vice president?

am not an big expert on USA poltical issues, though i do think that the state bush brought him self in ..well it isn't so good i guess for the upcoming elections.

As for Cheney i hardly see the dude on TV so i can't comment about him, i do agree on guliani, he has good leadership.

But if bush wants to survive and this is an option of making his postion better, i can imagine him doing it.

On the other hand, does Guliani agree with the way bush running his adminstration like cheney does? (assume he do)..big factor also.

Well Guliani is a Republican. I'm sure there are things maybe he disagrees with, but last I checked I think he did support the whole war in Iraq.

I'd vote for that ticket!

I think Bush will still want Chenny.

Bush's win will be sealed if he is able to look as a firm guy.

Switching running mates like Kerry changes political opinions can't work for him.

Bush will no doubt stick with Cheney. However, in 2008, I'd say there's a good chance we could see a Hitlary vs. Gulliani matchup. Makes more sense.

Then again, if Dubya picked Gulliani, it would probabaly provide a stronger base for a 2008 step up.

I'm still sticking with the current ticket though. There's been enough turnover already.

If all goes well Bush will be out in only 4 just like his dad.

Bush sucks!

Guliani as VP would complete this administrations political misuse of 9/11 but, I don't think Cheney would ever be given the boot. I mean who's lap is Bush going to sit on without Cheney? I think you got things mixed up, it's Cheney not Bush who's calling the shots.

it wouldn't matter if Cheney was VP, President, or with no official office whatsoever... he's still going to be running the country anyway

I actually like Rudy, but his opinion wouldn't matter in a Bush administration

rudy or macain

as for cheney running the country?

i don't think so...

I wouldn't be suprised if the Republican party asks Cheney to step into a support/consultant role so that they can get a a 2008 candidate in front of the cameras.
