Quicktime

It seems that technics hasn't quite mastered the vinyl-sampling technique like denon and pioneer have.

Either that or he needs to test a better track with them

Now I wanna see a preview of the Numark CDX1

Posted by LinX on Jun-05-2004 05:00:

i think it needs a better track

Posted by skip on Jun-05-2004 07:42:

ha technics got owned! they look crappy too IMO! too shiny and bling bling! if i had enormous amounts of cash i'd go for the pioneer cdj-1000s i think! but now i'll just be happy with my cdj-100s'

Posted by _-MIl0 on Jun-05-2004 16:21:

FOUND A VIDEO OF THE NUMARK CDX!!!!!!!!!!!!.

http://djbattle.mine.nu/video/review/cdx.rm

...K.. after that... this thing pwns all the others!!!! I'm sold!!... except I don't like how it's a battle-style oriented unit.

Maybe the Denon or Pioneer is better for my needs..Gotta research more.

yeah, the techs look like they aren't much good for scratching, but they could be better for mixing DJs.

well for the same price u could get one that scratches & mixes flawelessly... thats why they are tryinng to prove. I'd say the same thing u did if the technics were 600 cheaper

Soon I will be looking into getting a CD deck. Looks like there are so many choices.

true, but they will come down in price, just like everything else.

Man, the Techs really SUCK! The scratching sound is shitty. Who cares about digital distortion? WTF were they thinking? Why couldn't they make their scratching sound like the scratching on any normal Technics deck? I am kinda pissed off... that scratching sounds like a 16kb/s RealPlayer streaming file.

Denon sounded really nice though. I have to admit they sounded a bit better than the Pioneer. I myself have a pair of CDJ1000MKII's and I can tell that their scratching isn't perfected yet, but it sounds decent as it is...

I don't know how far the Technics will go in terms of sales... cause this unit is a pure piece of shit - no thought was put into it. Even the Numark CDX will do better than this (cause its scratching actually sounds more realistic)!

EDIT: Here's the video for the Numark CDX unit:

Really? From reviews done by respectable dj sites (eg. djbattle.net) and magazines (i-dj.co.uk) they all say that skratching with the denon is not as good as on the pioneers. Having also played with the denon myself I thought they werent that responsive. The spinnning platter didint impress me at all and I acually prefer skratching with a still platter since its resistance free. As for sound quality I thought the pioneers owned denon in this part. You have to remember that the site is typical denon progaganda and they are always gonna be biased.

how could you say that about something that has the name of technics all over it?

Posted by borron on Jun-06-2004 18:19:

The CDX looks very good, but i'm praying that it has more than 0.1% resolution, because if it doesn't, it loses a lot...

but by the time they come down in price denon and pioneer will have their 3rd generation players out and Technics sure has alot of catch-up..
