Steve Lawler @ System Review: Breakdown
Okay, I've read a bunch of mixed reviews, and we need to arrive at some sort of a consensus. Also, partial setlist anyone?
What I would like the following to do, and anyone else who was there, is post your favorite genre AND sub-genre, and three favorite DJs (of all EDM genres as a collective).
For instance, my favorite EDM genre is house, and my favorite sub-genre is tribal house.
My three favorite DJs are Sander Kleinenberg, Satoshi Tomiie, and Steve Lawler, in no particular order.
infinity HiGH "I just wasn't feeling it"
Tb. "lawler was relentless and just kept laying down one sick track after another"
charmscars "I found it really enjoyable- not as 'dirty' as i would have liked, but I can't complain."
The Highroller "Lawler spun an amazing set, but i definately think he was better last time."
tatgirl "He blew me away!"
Special K "Steve Lawler was unfuckingbelievable last night."
Crazy Serb "What Karlo said..."
samhouse "Kick ass night...steve lawler owns me "
brunette "Overall I liked his set.. at times he was losing me"
angelgirl "Lawler was alot of fun but I was really tired and I found the beats were not quite as dirty as I would have liked them to be."

my favourite genre is house. my favourite sub genre? hmm well it's not really a genre, but the kind of sets that i like are dirty, hard, chuggy sets mixed with tribal and some acid, electro flavoured house.

3. Hrmmm, don't really have a third, but i would say John Digweed or Sander K.
too bad you couldn't just be there and experience him for yourself eh? haha

one thing that would have made a huge difference for me is if he would have dropped one of the mark knight tracks!!
it's just not the same without them.
favorite genre has got to be house, as for fav DJs, thats a little hard to answer because i enjoy a variety of house sub-genres..but for now i'll have to say (in no order):

Favourite genre is house, I guess you could say. I also love the more melodic stuff ("progressive trance").
My 3 fav dj's would have to be:
Sasha
Digweed
Lawler and Sander K
After March, Lawler was a definate #2, but like I said, I just couldn't get into his set on Friday. Even back in April 2003, he was MUCH MUCH better.

This is a toughie....i guess it depends on my mood what genre is my favourite at the time...now that lawler has come and gone...house seems to be takin a back seat to trance...what the boat cruise and tiesto and pvd coming up....
Trance...Epic
Fav Djs = Armin, Ferry, PVD in that order.
House...Tribal, Dark Proggresive, Some harder Dirty comfort zone style tracks...
Fav Djs = Lawler, Deko-ze, Addy (havent heard sander or satoshi or scumfrog)

I tend to like a wide variety of sounds from Trance to Techno to Prog. It depends on my mood at the time.

I've always found that ATB rocked my world.
