Do you get drunk when watching matches on tv?

Ever since I can remember starting to watch international football, iv been drunk watching competitive england mathes.

Either in the pub or at home. I once took the whole day off work and sat in the pub from 11am for a 8pm kick off. Was one of the best days of my life. went to a club after it was finished and all the taxis had flags and stuff on the way home.

Was just wondering if other people do the same thing.

I prefer watching foota in the pub for the atmosphere. When you're pissed victory is so sweet, but defeat is so difficult to take. Basically the result determines your mood and the beer multiplies it.

the lest 2 times england and scotland played (euro 96 was it not?) i got so hammered i cant remember the 2nd half of either game i do know we got knoked out but we celebrated anyway. thats what us scots do party for the sake of it. christ you ever been to a scotish funeral...even they are parties!

Generally go to the pub for big matches as the atmosphere is so much better, as such normally end up in some form of innebriation

Normally I watch it at home with my friends, but with Germany - The Netherlands we will be at a bar to see it. And probably (if we win) get very drunk)

too bad I have an exam the next morning

No more true than when we got gubbed off Holland recently, everybody just went out and got hammered that night. Turned out to be a good one even if the football was garbage!

I usually am very sober before games, but for Spain vs. Russia on Saturday, there will be hell to pay for my sober foolishness. I just bought about $60 worth of weed and a nice bottle of Cointreau as a pregame, don't know what I will do after.

P.S: If anyone was in Paris for the Real Madrid vs. Leverkussen game (in the bars ect), I think the party was harder than in Madrid! I never seen such madness, even loclas said in some parts it wasn't like that when France won the WC! Great Party

Drunk!?!?!?! I don't think so! You know, drinking 2 beers while watching the game is quite normal for me, but getting drunk isn't the best way to watch games on tv in my opinion (there's a possibilty, that You won't remember antything )...

Posted by Tatsu on Jun-11-2004 07:26:

Normaly I watch the games at home and so it's not very funny to get drunk alone. But for this EM I plan to go to a pub to watch and celebrate. Guess I will be a little drunk from time to time... But I hope it won't be so much I can't see the game anymore!!

Nothing beats going down to the pub for a few drinks then celebrating its the true spirit of football all around the world.

I think that's the only thing England supporters can do while watching their muppets on the field...
