Trance Night In Austin

Hey guys, I just got word that Nuno's is throwing Trance nights on Thursdays in Austin. Now keep in mind that it is still new from what I understand and I have not been to one yet.

Here's the info: If you're interested in spinning, e-mail kyle at [email protected] and give him your information. If you don't want to spin, it would be cool to e-mail him anyway and let him know you would support it. I think this is a good chance to start something and see it build up.

The original thread is on globalbeatz.net under the Austin message board. Let's see what we can do.

well i can tell you that the young urban professional crowd (raises hand) won't be able to make this one consistantly. sunday-thursday nights are bad.

seriously, he should change it to saturday. no other club around hosts dj's for trance on a saturday. not even sky vue. well, maybe they do but they usually aren't all that great in my opinion. sorry if i am talking about one of you.

Believe me I know how rough it is. I have be at the bank at 9:30 in the morning. I remember the nights of driving up to Austin to party and driving back home to SA. I'm just bringing awareness to what's going on.

Yo David thx for bringing this up..regardless of who can make it or not. One great thing about heading back to school fulltime is I can party whenever, haha...well maybe not whenever but hell of a lot more than I do now...damn work.

Here's the info so far guys, I know they are doing something tonight, but they're having a drum n bass dj (anominiss) and a dj named LX (trance maybe?). Anominiss can play some good tracks, but I would sit this one out if you're looking to hear Trance. I still haven't heard from Kyle at Nuno's about anything. I'd really like to throw down on their system though.

When I learn more, I'll update this thread. Oh, and in case you guys wanna car pool when it starts.....I'll drive!!!

Ok guys, here's whatI've been told. It's going down next Thursday. No lineup as of yet, but there's a chance I may be on the lineup. Anyone from SA interested can carpool with me or if more people wanna go, we can follow each other. The most impoporatnt thing is to support it early on so the owner knows we're serious. It should end at midnight so we won't be out too late me thinks.

This is a good chance for us to meet the other djs in town and get in good with the promoter. We can use this to build on. Get your demos ready too. If you can't make it, I can at least give them a demo of yours. Let's see what happens...

Damn man, I work opposite days of the week every other week. This week I was off thursday, next week I work thursday. But if you can take up a demo, you would make my month. Finally someone willing to revitalize the trance scene around here, if you need help organizing anything in the future or whatever, just PM me bro. I messaged him as well with the email you gave, but no answer yet. We'll see.

We'll be doing more nights at Patsy's, so I will post the dates when they come up. I really wanna have some of you guys come in as guests. maybe tagging with me at first and possibly getting full hours at a later time.

I would love to play out. Never have and its my time to do so! What shall I do?

Here's my idea. Guys, we need you to email this guy and show support if possible. Also, anyone who wants to meet up for the drive up to Austin should private message me. We can car pool and save on gas if you like. I think we should meet there and talk to Kyle all at once so we show solidarity. I'll try to bring some people and I have a bit of friends in Austin, so we should have a good sized group.

Hey there. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm kind of the organizer of this whole thing... well kind of, lol. Kyle at Sky is the person who decides the main booking.

If you want to see trance grow again in Texas you need to go out and you need to support your local DJs. They got a great thing started there and if they see enough support it could explode into something bigger. Believe me we've been fighting hard in Dallas and now it's starting to come around, so do the same and let the good times roll. When I finish my summer class here I'll come to Austin to support you guys for sure!

Actually, most of my DCS boys are going with me. I lived in Austin for 6 years, so there's a bit of people that want to go out and see me. I just want to take as many people as possible with me. I know the owners want vocal trance and I hope that by taking people, I'll have support when I play those really good tracks that just happen to not have vocals on it.

Trance sets with too many vocal tracks sound like utter cheese imo. Can't believe they would ask you to play vocal tracks. But then again they are probably the same type of people that like shit like Ian van Dahl. I hope you got some vocal corkers in your box.

I'm not too big on those soaring female vocals. I feel the same way you do about too much vocal in a set. I''ll be sure to leave the cheese in my closet in San Antonio.
