Jurgen Vries R.I.P

The demise of Jurgen Vries is officially imminent as DJ producer Darren Tate, who records under the name, has decided to kill him off.

Darren has had three top ten hits as Jurgen, including 'The Opera Song' with Charlotte Church, and he is hoping to make it four this Sunday with his new single 'Take My Hand'.

However, as Darren explained, after that Jurgen's future looks pretty bleak: "It will probably be the last single release for Jurgen Vries."

"I can see eyes around me going 'Don't say that!', but the truth of the matter is I have got my head somewhere else right now."

"There will be a Jurgen Vries compilation which will feature all of the hit singles, but I am now concentrating on other projects."

Hope Armin does the same with lame ASOT, which is killing trance with weak minded shit.

Killing an alias is different than killing a show..

While I agree that it was uncalled for, this has nothing to do with TTA using his powers as a mod.

good jurgen vries sucks ass anyway, i cant stand any of his tracks they all remind me of the MOS albums

I wouldn't really class this as bad news, Jurgen Vries is probably Darren Tate's most irritating alias, the one that produces all the cheesy crap like The Theme...

Will be interesting to see how he refocuses, whether he can produce something as good as Let the Light Shine In again...

yeah, this was very good news but tbh, the theme (dumonde remix) & opera song (magik muzik mix) was quite good

Well, I just looove The Theme, it's a great song. So I'm a little sad about Darren Tate letting go his alter ego Jurgen Vries. But to be honest besides from The Theme I didn't like his songs very much. So good bye Jurgen Vries...

I don't think Darren Tate deserves quite so much stick for his 'Jurgen Vries' productions - they're cheesy, right enough, but compare them to the majority of commercial trance and they're a cut above the rest.

i agree with you there, whereas it certainly wasn't my type of trance it beats a fair ammount of other commercial works and the videos were highly entertaining

I won't miss Jurgen, but i shall keep an eye on what Darren is likely to do form now on as some of his other things i really enjoy.

really couldnt stand this alias

didn't expect that. oh well, great lost..well somehow to me, i think he produces the best vocal trancez ever after M-Diva - Reachin Out and remixes by PUSH and Ferry "Connected-Ayumi". With his Alias Jurgen Vries And DT8. Armin and Tiesto cant do shit with vocals who wrote bad lyrics and dosen't give you that feeling to listen it over and over again. Examples like Burned with Desire and Love Comes Again.

Its not really easy to come out with lyrics that moves people emotion and compatible vocalist. I think i will miss this alias greatly. Resto nella pace Jurgen Vries

Who cares about Jurgen Vries.. The tracks were all damn cheesy as most of Darren Tates productions...

Its about time he did this! This alias has ruined him as a producer!

Actually I only liked 'The Theme', so I won't cry if he decides to stop with this alias...

well the new album is comming out soon, 'trance revolution' i guess that'll be interesting

hmm thats odd i thought he was doing pretty damned good under jurgen vries... i admit even i like them ... i mean in terms of the crap commtrance/dance cheesewank i hear on the radio all day, darrens are always of a better standard.. you can tell a mile off he knows what hes doing and hes not just making what the pop kiddies want to hear
