Come Together As One
Ok ladies and gents, lets see what we can do. I want to start planning a TxTA Meet Up, I can supply the hardware (decks, mixer, possibly sound and place). All we need is for people to bring food, drinks records and a kick ass attitude.
I am devoting this tread to planning out a gathering. So post your ideas and what not, and I will get pics of my place so you guys can see it and see if it is acceptable. So there ya have it....start with the ideas!!
awesome! I'll bring rekkids, cans, and carts if you so wish. (I know I'd prefer people use their own carts if it were my equipment and I hardly knew em). Ideas... ideas... hmm... we've gotta decide on when it'll be, date wise and time wise (have a bbq in the afternoon maybe? Or a party in the evening?). Thnx for offering, Mike right?
All right! Some initiative here, very much appreciated. Not too many of us in San Antonio, but that will grow with time. I spin on CDJ800s, so I'll be bringing them along if there aren't any. I just moved into my new place, so I didn't have the option of throwing something at my place until now. Maybe have it at your place, next time at my place or however we decide to do it.
i'll come meet up with you guys where ever you're going to be at
.

not near you guys just yet but it's great to see some initiative. If I was there i'd def. bring my technics and vestax 275...I Guess that will have to wait until August when I get to Austin and hopefully there will be another get together by then...
I wish you all the best of luck and hope this TA meet up works out!
-Mike
I say we should have a bbq, its fun and everyone can enjoy themselves, and maybe not be too tired to chit chat. It would have to be on a weekend, preferably on Saturday, seeing as Dad has school M-F and has to wake up at 7am. I have 2 SL1210Mk2s, Pioneer DJM 600, my friend however has a Tascam X-9, we may use that seeing as I may have to pawn my mixer. We have a smoker in the back that we can grill up some food, so if you wants to bring beef and what nots we can grill 'em up! I have a high power reciever that we used for a previous meet up I held, so we can def. use that. I like the idea of the CDJ800s, BRING 'EM BRO! As far as any saturdays, it can not be this saturday or next, as my crew and I have gigs. So I propose maybe in 3-4 weeks we could do this, if everyone is open to that idea. ****NOTE**** I say 3-4 weeks because we can do it sometime after this saturday and next.
So there you have it.
~Mike M.
awesome Mike. Have you got some decent size speakers to run off that receiver? I only have monitors, not loud enough for a party. Have you got a decent sized area to set up the decks and shit, and chill in? I have a xone:32 and a pair of SL1200-MK5's, Andres' CDJs would be a great addition too.
the other Mike - I hope this'll be an ongoing thing, if we all get along well no doubt it will be, and August is pretty near!
i dont know what i can bring maybe a bottle or 2 but im down for whatever just let me know when and ill hook it even if i cant take nothing ill still through down with some cash
....................or i can bring the weed

We had a meetup with the iloveraving.com people last month. It was a good time had by all. Our friend Nick from Austin made some kickass steaks for us.
The area is a good size and we had good sound from his speakers. My only request would be it be soon after the 15th or 30th of any month. That's when I get paid by "The Citi".
Just an idea -- everyone email or submit a couple of tracks he/she would like to hear. Someone with DJing skills takes one or two requests from each person and makes a megamix. You'd have a TXTA playlist. Everyone who shows is sure to hear one of their favorites! I know whenever I hear a familiar favorite in a club, I feel at home right away!
probably half of us will be spinning there live though, so it doesn't need to be planned
well like Dave (Octane) stated. The area in the living room is of decent size, I have an extra fridge in the back that we can put drinks and extra food in. My only request, if we do this, is people bring food, something you like and you want people to try. I have no problem just busting out the set up I have because it's here and it means no one has to bring anything other than carts, rekkids, food, and drinks, and some "pik-nik" plates, and plastic ware. I can spruce up the back yard so every one can chill outside, in the case that you don't want to be inside, or want to smoke.
On the note of smoking, please dispose of butts in butt can I will provide or toss them into the alley way.
end transmission...
I dunno what I could possibly bring other than choons, food, and an appetite.

Yea, let me know.... I'll make the drive for that. Should be a lot of fun. I'll bring my carts and records. If you need a mixer, I have a DJM-600 I can bring. Other than that, I think that's really all I can donate besides some bottles and whatever food yall want.
