Kimbal Collins will be at The Ampitheater in Ybor City, in Tampa Saturday June 19th. Be sure to check it out. Kimbal is a really good trance dj.

Kimbal review

Suzy and I got to the Amp at around 1:15. Dj Mondo the club resident was on the decks playing his signature style of Florida breaks. About 1:30 Kimbal came on. I was expecting him to play a set of hard progressive trance, which i had heard from him the last few times i'd seen him there. He started his set with some fairly cool sounding breaks, more on the intelligent side than the funky side. I assumed that eventually he was going to progress into some trance but not on this nite. :-( At least not until the last song which was Ferry Corsten's "Its time". I got a chance to speak with him after his set. He told me that he was no longer feeling trance and was now back to playing Progressive House,(progressive house doesnt work well with the Amp crowd so he was playing breaks). I was a bit bummed to hear this cause he is basiclly one of the few djs that, when booked at the Amphitheater, (which is a very commercial crowd) plays a full set of trance. Anyways, it was still a fun night, I took a bunch of pics. I will try to post them soon.

I hear that by the end of the night that the Amp was pretty dead. I would have loved to have seen you guys, but I was tired from my trip.

Hi Amber,
It would have been nice to see you as well. When we got to the Amp it wasnt very packed to begin with. I would say only 2/3 capacity, which I didnt mind at all.
Kimball...I would go see him again, I just wouldnt have my expectations set as high next time.

It's a shake Kimball Collins ditched the trance sound. I used to listen to his ICU Generation Trance series religiously. Got me obsessed with the track Mea Culpa - The Child.

Hey...Suzy will be at the Amp on 8/29 for the Tantra party? Interesting. That's three days after my birthday. Hmmmmm. Paul and I usually celebrate our birthdays together somewhere that same weekend. I guess it will all depend on that. I'll have to keep this in mind. If Suzy's schedule changes one of you let me know.

I love that song!!!!!! Kimball is the reason I listen to trance. I fell in love with ICU club nights, generation trance, all of his cds. Plus he started in Orlando. I have traveled all over just to hear him play and was on a first name basis with his manager. He has met me so many times he probably thinks I'm swim fan, but at least now he knows me. I'm sad he is leaving trance, but he'll be back!

That is correct. Suzy will be at the Amphitheater for their Tantra party on Aug 29th. She will play a 2 hour set from 1-3am. There is talk of her being the resident for these Tantra parties. They are held once every two months. They are invite only and the dress code is, wear what you would wear to bed. I looked on the Amps website and they have had seven of these parties already. They have pictures of the shows and it looks like everyone is having a good time. Ill keep you all posted on this one.

I have received two invites and just never went. I know all about Tantra.
