Sneaker Pimp Music to Run to...

This will apply to any of you runners out there - I'm looking for some suggestions of music to listen to while running. Some examples of tunes I currently listen to for this purpose are:

DJ Tiesto - Sparkles (Airscape Remix)
Tin Tin Out - Strings for Yasmin (Matt Darey Remix)
Way Out West - Mindcircus (Gabriel & Dresden Mix)
Yahel - Voyage (Original)
Art of Trance - Love Washes Over (Pheric Mix)

I have my first 10km race approaching, and I'm trying to put together a killer playlist to run to that day. The right music is a big part of the experience for me, so I'd love to hear about any tracks that have been motivational for any of you.

Thanks in advance for any input

lol, I just randomly pick a CD or CD-R before I jog my 3-5 miles. It can be any genre, just depends what I want that day.

Marc Aurel - Running

i think tiesto's ISOS3 is pretty good.. the first track's beat sets down a good pace for jogging, and then it picks up a bit halfway through to test ya

Figure out how fast you run and try to find tracks with matching BPM. Ideally, you want to step on the ground with each beat. At my current running pace, it's around 136bpm.

I usually ride my bike. My CD player works fine sitting in my pocket.

Dude, you're running a 10k RACE to music? Be real, no serious runner runs to music.

Why?

I know plenty of people who run marathons etc. that swear by their MP3 players.

IMO it's personal choice. And to say that no serious runners listen to music is overgeneralizing a bit, don't you think?

I like the thread, yea well i like a little:

daft punk - aerodynamic
Age of Love - Age of Love (Wrecked Angle Mix)

I dont do marathons or anything, but I put in about 20+ minutes on the treadmill and I plug in PVD - OTAB, starting with The Love from Above->Columbia->Out there and Back->We are alive. And finish.
It starts hard, stays hard and has a great finish.

As far as trance goes...
SQ1 -- Can You Feel...[airplay edit]
Rob Dougan - Furious Angel (Matrix Reloaded Soundtrack)

Non Trance:
Sweet -- Fox on the Run
Pink Floyd -- Run like Hell
Anything by Eminem

I've been running for years and I've listened to everything imaginable but nothing can even touch what listening to psytrance at a high BPM will do for you IMO. I re-encode my favorite psytrance tracks to around 150-155 BPM and I kid you not its like a nuclear engine that fuels me as I run. Give it a shot and I sware you'll hear and feel what I'm talking about. The key is to sync your running strides with the beat so that each foot is hitting the ground with each beat, hence why the BPM is around 150 give or take depending on how fast you are running. It has to be a certain kind of psy though so if you want, PM me as I have an entire library of sped up psy that is reserved for the very purpose of listening to while running. I have converted fellow weightlifters and runners to this technique and we all agree we could never go back.
