Tiesto... thoughts
hey guys, so I'm having reservations about going to see tiesto at vision. his style has changed a lot, and his latest sets have sounded pretty dull... i don't know what to think. it it just me? i want something that is going to be banging... what do you think?
I'm personally going for the atmosphere and to see my friends above everything else, but I've actually been impressed by some of his sets lately (shock).
i just seen him in TO. and he but on a GREAT set, his energy level wasn't as high as i like it but you'll love the set! I haven't heard any complaints yet!!!!
... yeah, i guess i'm just complaining here... i want to be completely blown away - a la pvd - but i don't know if it will happen... i've enjoyed tiesto in the past (pre-trainwreck episodes), so we'll see...

I don't think I'll make this, but If I did go it would be for the atmosphere.. I'm not expecting much out of tiesto...

chris - btw, pvd restored *my* faith with his set at vision, and my faith wasn't even that deep to begin with. All hail PVD... when he's in a good mood
pvd was way off when I saw him on 4/20
I was kind of sad, with it being a holiday and all you kind of expect alot.
it was one of his mediocre sets.
After reading the reviews of Tiesto's set @ Avalon in NYC I'm very un-excited about going to this.
his mixing has been subpar, i would say for over a year now, i dont know if that has to do that he drinks alot during his shows, or that his style is so diverse now that the mixing of tracks is more difficult, due to the fact he basically genre-hops edm(if that makes sense). a friend of mine attended his nyc event and told me he trainwrecked due to the turntables mostly being off balanced, and he was constantly trying to clean the needles. but i have noticed that since early 2003 tiestos mixing has gone downhill, but honestly i think his track selection is still the best and the raw energy at his shows is to. imho
i saw tiesto in bangkok a few months back... he put on quite a show i must say, i was quite impressed. ive heard some of his newer sets and havent thought too much, but the atmosphere he *can* develop is worth everything. i hope he puts on a great show for chicago

Since I already bought a presale I will be there.
It is going to be my last time going out for a long long time.
My student loan payments got screwed up and I have to make up two payments that I thought had been taken out of my checking account along with all my other bills and losing basically 2 weeks pay during my vacation has made money vrey very tight.
Thus I have to cut back on lots of things.
If I had not already spent the money I wouldn't be going.

Okay.

I caught some of his set in Miami at Space. Towards the end he was really going at it with some good tracks that had lots of energy. But I'm not so much into trance as I was in 01 and 02. I'd like to go but might just skip because I need to save money for vacations in July. We'll see

Im planning on making this. TIESTO ROCKS. But The crowd would be alot of energy for me. I love going out & seeing the crowd there for the music & at a Tiesto show they will be there. So im down.
.
just a follow up here, but Tiesto fuckign ownd last nite. He blew away the set PVD did at Moda on 4/20 and avb at metropolis. Id say it was the best DJ set ever played in cleveland as far as Ive been to or know about.

What I expect to see this night:
1. Packed by 11
2. No entery by 1am
3. Hot as hell inside
4. Great show (Tiesto knows his fans, he WILL drop some old-skool shit, just to make people move)
I'm just thankful that their capacity is now @ 1600, instead of 3000 like it was last time Tiesto was @ Vision.
Anyone who was there will know what I mean
how is vision, as a venue?
do people generally like this place? can it contain a crowd of tiesto fans? i saw him at avalon in NYC and it was totally wall-to-wall bodies. could we expect the same at vision?
