Kindred Spirits - Compos Sui (sample)

some of you might remember the anthem we (Pumaz/TOR) produced for the Belgian forum of TA.. we are working on a follow-up at the moment. it is something totally different though, and it sounds much more like "us", if you know what i mean.

below you can download a sample of 3 minutes, encoded in 256kbps. it is far from finished and there's a lot to be changed, but it gives an idea of what direction we are heading (lots of ethnic/tribal influences).

Kindred Spirits - Compos Sui (sample)

comments would be nice, to see if we are doing the right thing..

Wow, very nicely done ambience. Yeah, very good for an opening track in a set. Very promising... can't wait for the full version. =) The tribal percussion was done well too. I love this. Keep it up, guys. Please let me know when you finish this.

This is exactly the kinda sound I want to be making in the future

Top stuff

Sounds rather nice although admittedly it's not really my bag of chips. Overall feel is very nice, percussion is also good. Possibly the bass could be slighty more prominent, but I dunno...

Nice work though.

Really great work ! I'm curious to hear the full track

very cool stuff, great atmosphere
tribal percs are nice, really like that guitar or whatever it is at the end
the bassdrum sounds a bit muffled though

curious about the full version

Posted by TOR on Jun-20-2004 15:22:

thanx a lot for the feedback!

it might take a while before we get it finished, we're still busy with exams and all.. we'll do the best we can.

Posted by Jakhira on Jun-21-2004 11:00:

You are I've finished

Posted by Tilo on Jun-21-2004 15:19:

wooha...exellent mastering here...really interesting intro...
and the percussions
unbelievable, get it done!!!!

Posted by eulerfx on Jun-21-2004 17:16:

That tribal/trance intro is great. I've never heard this kind of stuff before and it sounds great. Usualyl if its tribal, its dark house, but this is trance...

Sounds like something Max Graham would use in a set. Really addictive and great progression, those percs in the end just become hypnotic, but the pads in the background keep it alive...

then get off your lazy ass and start working on that melody

that was intended hehe.. wanted to keep it minimal, so that the listener would be hypnotised by the deep groove.

i've heard people complain that it doesn't get underway fast enough though.. i guess we'll have to find a way in between.

anyway, thanx for the comments!

I've got an idea at the moment, actually...
*Switches synths on*

Hmm, these instruments used give a great ambience. All sounds peaceful, natural, what synth you used for it? Or are these just samples
