I swear Calgary's getting the shaft with a lack of quality shows lately.

I'd like to second that.

At least I'll have Motion Notion soon.

you guys saw the size of the crowd @ WoW, Rank 1, John 00, Marco V, Dave Lea, uberzone and at D.A.V.E. the drummer

those shows have all been in the last 2 months.
how can you complain?

There are other shows in the works as well..but nothing confirmed yet.

I'm sorry Jason, I'm just agreeing cos I missed WoW, but don't worry, some Motion Notion will mix that right up.

"Rank 1, John 00, Marco V"

Those 3 DJs should be able to pack a club the size of The Whiskey just aswell as Judge Jules, Ferry Corsten, even Lisa Lashes... Yet they can barely pack The Warehouse... So, yea I am gonna have to say these shows have been pretty weak lately.. not cuz of lack of Talent, but lack in Venue and promotion for the Venue...

Posted by Z4ss on Jun-17-2004 17:36:

agreed, the warehouse is average at best

I think its the city dying.

Posted by ChadVanDyk on Jun-17-2004 22:22:

I agree wholeheartedly. I wish I was wrong but there hasn't been a good turnout for a show this year. Best crowd was for Ferry and Lashes and it wasn't even that packed considering they put the booth on the stage. I really think once Def Star got out of the game...everything has slowly gone downhill. I appreciate the Warehouse shows but it doesn't seem anyone else does. I think the lack of promotion for those shows and the reputation of the Warehouse really set those shows up for failure.

I guess it means more road trips. On that note, I'm on to TO/MTL for a few weeks to catch PvD and Armin twice. Might throw a bit of Tenaglia @ Boa in there too.

Yea man I hear ya, and have to unfortunately agree with Jason, this city does seem like its dieing, well if it does and the scene disappears, I'm outta here, to either Toronto or Van City, I really don't think I could live in a city with no scene, especially when I might try and get back into DJin in clubs.

Yea, Prodigy and I are gonna try and hit up this show Friday night, and then roll up to Motion Notion right after...

Should be a killer weekend... Hopefully we live through it...

Hey everyone, sorry for being so shameless and coming on here and saying "mystical 2" without ever introducing myself etc.

Anyways my name's Ben aka Rodi Style, from Calgary.

I'm glad you guys are excited for Ayla/Safri Duo. I had a great time last year (mystical 1) and i think Ayla/Tandu did a great job so its wonderful to have him back.

I've already started thinking about some possible trance headliners for mystical 3 and was wondering what you guys would like to see (besides the obvious top 10 djs). I'm thinking more along the lines of trance djs like (ayla/safri duo) who are great but not up in the top 50's.

Ben
