UDG Slanted bag

I'm about to buy me a new vinyl bag, and are looking at the UDG's atm.
It is the bags that holds up to aprox 60 records that are interesting for me atm i think, and the 'UDG slanted' bag looks really nice.

But i got a question about that one.
As you can see on the first pic above, the slanted version has an inclineted front.. I'm not sure if this is an advantage or not when looking through the records..?

The old modell is on the right pic there, and don't got that slanted front so it's just regular. Maybe it's more suited for setting the records you're about the play in 'sloped' position?

So wondering if any of you have experienced any of these modells,
and which one should i go for..?

I have four of these (leopard, navy camo, black with pink interior limited edition one, and a small one )

All of them are 90 capacity non slanted & non flip front

I looked at the slanted-didnt make any difference to be honest- if you do what i do and put the sleeves up at 45 degrees then its the same.

The flipfronts are slightly better- when they get full, the records can be very tightly packed in, so the flip front makes access slightly better if you can be bothered with it. But the normal ones arent bad at all- you can always remove the foams from the front or back to increase access/capacity.

Id also recommend the 90 ones over the 60s-not much more cash but much bigger. If you can find one, grab the black 90 with pink interior limited one- a bit sought after and highly cool.

You really wont go wrong with any of them- they are awesome.

i have the one without the slanted sides & flip front (i think they came out just after i bought it damnit)

i think its a wicked bag, much easier to carry about than a metal record box, and they are easily waterproofed with some of the stuff you spray on tents.. they protect your records very well and the pockets on the sides are very handy for headfones, carts and other wires n shit you might need.

not to mention the secret drugs stash pocket.. muahahahahahah

i highly recommend UDG bags

Doesn't the 90 ones get extremely heavy carrying??

Posted by tu_face on Jun-17-2004 13:08:

i would imagine so, 60 is bad enough..

i dont think you will ever really need to take more than 60 records to a gig, unless you plan on playing a 6 hour set or something. i think the 90 ones are probably for people who are crap at making decisions

are UDG's some of the best bags?

but has anyone experienced the slanted-bag version?

Posted by Freak on Jun-19-2004 13:10:

yes i told you i have
Seems pointless

If you are going to get anything different to the normal type- get the flip front.

Bell.
End.

to look at it, isn't the same as having experience with it!!

i've looked at it myself, but have never used it..

Oh ffs
If i go and 'look' at a new car, i will try it out and test drive it, as well as physically looking with my eyes.

If i 'look' at a bag, i will try it out.
/end of pedantic mode.

No i didnt just look with my eyes- i tried it- and it was pointless.
I experienced it, and it was pointless.

lucky you that also was able to try it out with records and stuff without buying it. whish also i could..

but it's pointless huh? hum..

I picked up the Black 90-record UDG unslanted non-slit-front bag with green cushions inside. Very 1337 I say! Price was a bit much, but considering there's very few stores in town that carry them.... it was ok. It's a really sweet bag... rugged as hell; there's no breaking those straps, and it'll carry anything you stuff into it. I think I once fit about 94 before busting its seams (which isn't really possible though )

It's up to you whether you want the slanted top or not. It's better for fiddling through your stack, but it also allows for records against that lower side to bend & creep ... not so great.

didn't think of that actually. and the last thing i want is to bend the records.. so guess i will be going for the regular one..
thanks for the info dudes!

Yes, I've used the 60 slanted top, the 60 normal bag and now I have the 90 flipfront.

All of the UDG bag range are excellent and I wouldn't buy anything else. I found the 60 slanted a bit easier to use than the normal 60 but it wasn't major. The records won't bend more in a slanted as the front of the lid has a longer front to compensate for the slant of the main part of the bag.

Basically, all excellent bags no matter what you choose.
