i would be so happy to see Italy being beat up!!!

ahhaha

0-0.

A game which promises so much but delivers so little. Hope I'm wrong.

hard match to forsee, I think it will end 2 - 1 but I can't say who will win, it'll probably be one of thoose matches where coincidence will be the final factor that settles it...

3-2 sweden

2x henke
1 wilhelmsson

2x vieri for italy

Posted by SPANIARD on Jun-18-2004 01:23:

I don't care what score just please Sweden go for it all

Posted by InterMilan31 on Jun-18-2004 01:24:

3-1 with Italy taking the win. 2 goals from Vieri, one from one of the mid-fielders. Henrik or Zlatan will score for Sweden. Although I say this now and in my mind that is what I expect it always happens that Italy plays poorly never scores many goals and plays too defense minded.

Of course Italy will win.

They can play very good when they want (and need) to. Think that they have woke up now after the first match. They know they better win this match to qualify and they know Sweden won 5-0 first match and that they will play without Totti. think that will be enough for them to pull themselves together. Sweden had a too easy first match. Depends a lot on the Swedish coaches, if they can get the players to really realise that the Italian defence wont give away one-to-none chances and that they were lucky getting every (almost) conclusion in goal. If they can forget the first match and start over from zero.

But then again, if Italy plays its best then it doesn't matter how Sweden plays.

AND:
For Sweden this match is rather uninportant. Italy will qualify in one way or another and the other team will be decided in the last match Sweden-Denmark.

I worry about italian mentallity sometimes and this match tonight will be a huge test of that mentallity. If gattuso and pirlo play in the midfield and they unleash cassano (and he plays well) then I can see it being a fantastic game with an italy win, but if they insist on playing with del piero up front and camoronesi and zanetti then we will loose and loose badly.

they also need to play ferrari at right back in place of pannuci.

i was hoping a lot of italy but dunno what to say after that first game. sweden looks like one of the strongest teams in the tournament, especially in the attack. italy has a chance on the counter-attack.

Posted by michiel on Jun-18-2004 10:54:

italy has absolutely no chance whatsoever
hope it'll be a nice win for sweden

ciao

Forza Azzuri!!!!!!!

Italy will win 2-0 (hopefully)

Interesting game with the Totti affair. If Sweden can perform like the first game they will easily take it but cant discount the Italians as they can always produce something special

2-1 Sweden

Italy dissapointed in their first match, while sweden surprised whole football-europe with their 5:0 victory. My prediction is that Italy will win 2:1 this evening, because they need to win absolutely in order to go through.
Sweden is a strong team too - but today it won't be as easy to win as 4 days ago.

Zlatan and Larsson vs. Cannavaro and Nesta
!!I LIKE THIS!!

Posted by Virus on Jun-18-2004 17:12:

I expect Italy to win, but with the Totti affair and with the great start we've had in the tournament we certainly have a chance. The worst thing that could happen would be if Italy got an early goal. Then they would fall back and it would be very hard for us to score.

Forza gli blu-gialli!

Possibly a draw, although that would be the worst result for Denmark

Posted by Electronicmaji on Jun-18-2004 18:39:

colombia uhh nevermind anyway...

2-1 italy win for me the game will be in a couple of minutes...

Posted by A.J. on Jun-18-2004 19:35:

1-0 at half time.

Nice.

Italy are dominating at the moment. Zambrotta and Cassano had a great half, Zambrotta was carving up the defender down the left hand side.

By the way, did you guys hear the shout-out by the commentator to everyone watching in Canada?

"For all the people watching from Vancouver to Toronto, we hope you are enjoying the Euro 2004 championship."

great goal by sweden ...

Posted by Kongo_kim on Jun-18-2004 20:39:

MY GOD ZLATANS GOAL!!!!

Posted by A.J. on Jun-18-2004 20:42:

:whip

Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!

Italy were all over them for most of the game, but the stupid manager played way too defensive and they paid the prize. He shouldn't have taken off Cassano or Del Piero!

Full credit to Sweden, though. They just went for it in the last twenty minutes and they got a goal. They had 3 or 4 people forward at some times, they played really attacking football, and the pressure eventually got to Italia.

Great goal, and great game though. That was the best game i have seen so far in Euro 2004.
