My cell phone bill this past month

$1457.27.

I didn't realized that it cost $1.50/minute to call anywhere from the US (it's a Canadian plan that's supposed to be internationally friendly), and my parents dragged me home for a month so I made a lot of call from there.

I don't really have any way of paying this...so..umm...grrr.

I know it's completely my fault, but it's still a pain in the ass.

And I'm also an illegal immigrant in this country now, so I can't really do either of those...

Maybe you should cut back on the 1-900 Psychics Hotline calls

Go to mexico and hide out for a while.

i would double check your contract...read the fine print...and very carefully look over your bill...tell them you want a detailed version. they might be ripping you off for dumb charges and think you won't care because the bill is already so much.

i refuse to have a cell phone and contract w/ verizon, or sprint pcs or any of those bullshit companies. they act like u save so much money but you always end up going over minutes and u pay dearly for it.

they have this new cell phone company in south florida (don't know if it's anywhere else in the US) called Metro PCS. it's genius. there are no contracts. u just buy the phone and sign up...no credit checks or any of that bullshit, and u pay a FLAT fee every month and have unlimited LOCAL calling. i mean, it's great for people who don't really have a lot of long distance calling. even when i call my dad in texas sometimes and other family members, i just use a calling card. it's cheaper. i love it that i can talk all i want, and i know my bill is always going to be $45 a month hopefully Metro PCS will be branching out to other parts of the country.

come to england, we'll give u a free house, free asylum, free medical care, we'll prob buy u a car, and more than likely wipe your debt aswel.

I'm with Roger's, who used to be a Division of AT&T, but it's basically one of the largest Canadian phone companies. The bill I have is detailed...unfortunately, I got charged two ways for the calls because of the fact that it's long distance and for the airtime in the US. Even the calls that were covered under the 500/minutes a month I had were charged something like .90/min for the US airtime.

I'm not sure if there are smaller companies like that here...I'm just going to get a pay as you go phone after this, I think.

id go absolutely ape shit if i got that bill.

but then i hardly ever talk on the phone so i dont think that will happen to me anytime soon.

they have that in Canada. at least in Toronto, from Fido. It's called CityFido and that's what exactly it does. Plus, you can get long distance with Primus with your wireless phone and then you are set to have a completely mobile phone with no land line.

As for your charges buddy, How come you never checked how much calls would cost out of the country.

I would suggest getting rid of the cell phone, getting one with another plan and pay this one off slowly.

I had checked the account balance for the phone when I was in America... It was something like $450 at the end of may, so I figured I was okay...I found out later that that was actually the previous month's balance and not the current one.

you should have know the charge per minute tho before even making one call.

anyways, 450? in a regular month? In Canada?

Yeah, the amount this company's been charging me has been rather bogus...oh well. Live and learn, I guess.

Money wasn't really a big issue with me before cause my parents paid for a lot...I wasn't excepting them to cut me off like this.

That guy seemed so smitten with Lephaid that he probably WOULD have done it, too.
