Exporting samples in Fruity...

To ensure that the samples retain the highest quality, I've selected the highest bit rate to encode with (32 bit float 16.8). When i try to play it back, I can't even open the wav file. Is it because my sound card doesn't support it? Or do I need a codec for it? I have a hercules sound card, so nothing fancy here. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

You don't need to encode the wav in 32bit. You just need to do the final render in Sinc Depth 256 (and 16bit) for best quality.

32 bit floating is MEGA mate. If you want really good quality, go 24bit, 96kHz, but even that is beyond necessary for you. I imagine your sound card will only accept 16 bit, so export at 16 bit, 44.1kHz and you'll be sweet. That's CD quality.

Yeah my card doesn't support 24bit/96khz samples. I don't even see the option in Fruity to render the wav with those settings. It only has 16 bit, 32 bit (0.16), and 32 bit (0.24).

I find that 16 bit samples can't retain quality enough. It takes the deepness and fullness out of the sound.
