My recent bodybuilding progress pics....
would I get flamed for posting them, just for some feedback. Cause I wanna enter a competition soon, but dont know if Im ready. So would I get flamed for posting them here for you guys to check out? If not then let me know and Ill post them now.
Go ahead mate, why should you get flamed? If you need some advice, theres nothing to be ashamed of.
orbax does it all the time
sure post them here but i think youd get more 'educated' feedback on a bodybuilding site such as anabolex.com or elitefitness.com. they really know what they are talking about and could help you tinker your diet before competition or give you tips on what you need to work on.

Thats a bit far away but looking good bro..
Try to take a close-up pic next time so we can criticize more
from far away, it looks like you need to drop a bit of bf% to get ripped like paper. but i could be wrong
either way, looks good
look at the last one, its a bit closer.
how many weeks out are you till the contest?

| Originally posted by imokruok That was kind of my thought too, but it's hard to tell from the pics. I had a similar issue when I was trying to 'get ripped,' and the solution was to change my protein shake. I had been using one with a calorie/energy supplement along with the protein, and at the end of the day, I was way above what I should have been for calories. (I was eating a lot, so I got enough calories that way). So I switched to a pure protein shake with no calorie supplement. I think one glass was only 90 calories instead of 600 or so. I think it was "Designer Whey" - tasted pretty good too. |

hey tell us how you work out
like how many sets and what you do daily and how many reps and your whole working out thing
Damn man, you're built like a truck, nice job. Well proportioned too.
From the looks of those pic's I'd say you might have the size but you need to drop a lot more bodyfat in order to be contest ready.
You might try limiting your calories even further, even though you'll lose energy and be hungry all the time. It's the price you have to pay for getting ripped.
Just a liitle friendly advide from a fellow athlete.
mi amigo the bodybuilder usually cuts to 4% fat before competitions. He does a week of calorie restricting and then he fasts the two days before the competition. Every time he is gonna go you can see all the veins in his stomach and everything. After that he goes back to a healthy 8%.
I dont remember if youre doing a competition, but i thought it was mentioned. if not, ignore me.
could use a bit of work on the forearms
try holding a clean or bench bar with a bit of weight behind your back and down by your ass, just hanging. then curl yoour wrists up backwards, like, oppisite way you would if you were to floor a motorcycle. this will build up strength fast, and bulk.

what kinda contest is it? that's gonna make a big difference
you definitely need to lose some fat before it. it was already asked, but i didn't see an answer...how far away is the contest. judging the pics i would say you need to lose another 10-15lbs of body fat. what is your weight right now? what weight class where you going to be in? heavy weight? middle weights?
Shane...take this criticism as constructive, buddy.
What you really need to focus on is fat burning, because you have way too much body fat to be concerned with a contest at this point. Contest bodybuilders spend a few months bulking up as much muscles as they can, targeting EVERY specific muscle group and working each muscle to the greatest extent, then about 12 weeks out, start dieting down to strip their body fat.
However, you would have way too much bodyfat to strip down for a contest. So, my suggestion is that you keep training the way you are, but stop eating like shit. Cut out the saturated fats and sweets. Grill your chicken, don't fry it. No breading. Drink water instead of soda or juice. No shitty condiments, especially mayonnaise. Mustard is the best, ketchup is okay also.

youre asking for advice on the wrong forum bro
bb.com forums are good, stay there for advice. this is a music junkie forum, people on here have no idea what they are talking about.
good work though
what does everyone think of my form.
