reverb plugin recommendations
Hello,
I am looking for a good reverb plugin that has the following guidelines;
- quality algorithms
- low cpu usage
- automation and most importantly "mix" parameter
- either vst or dx
TIA
i've always been using the waves plugins. quality stuff. www.waves.com
It's going to be impossible to find a high quality VST or DX plugin unless you buy a convolution reverb from Waves (extremely expensive) or Timeworks Reverb X (extremely high CPU usage). You're better off buying a UAD-1 pc card and geting a Dreamverb plugin.
somebody mention waves r-verb to me here and I have to agree that its perfect for trance, but there is a nice free one kicking about called SIR http://www.knufinke.de/sir/index_en.html
whats r-verb? do you mean true verb or ir1 verb?
you got me interested in convolution reverbs. Are they better for trance then normal reverbs?
its r-verb aka Renaissance Reverberator which does not use Impulses. It just uses the standard hall, room, etc type reflections and it first came out with the renaissance pack but i believe its in the gold bundle too. All reverbs do convolution btw ... the new techie buzz is using IR (impulse-responses) to convult a reverb instead of using a filter
Thy told us once.
Reverbs quality depend on your Cpu, thats why hardware Reverbs sound soooo much better..
i will have to check out that r-reverb. I guess there is no reverb plugin that has low cpu usage and great quality. Hardware is the answer then. Maybe as computers get faster there will be no problems with cpu usage and you will be able to use unlimited number of plugins. Hopefully that will happen soon.
PSP EasyVerb is very good too.
