Ok, here's the analysis. Remember this is a limit 15/30 game which is somewhat of a medium limit poker table, so the game is VERY VERY aggressive. This suits me just fine as I'm a very aggressive player.
I was dealt 77 at the button.

Seat one raised it first before the flop. Because of my read on him, and the way the game is going, I put him on something like AQ or something similar. I had pocket 7s and 3 bet it to isolate him by knocking out other players leaving me and him. However seat 5 is the small blind and little did I know that he had aces.

Things didn't go so good when he reraised me and capped it. I knew I was in trouble but because of the size of the pot i had to call one more to see the flop, no chance I'm folding that now even though I know that I'm way behind.

The flop comes and what do you know I hit my top set (3 sevens), he bets out. Now here I really did thought about slowplaying and just smooth call his betout. I thought about it and because of his agression I really did think he had a huge pocket pair and when I reraised him and he raised again I knew he had aces. If an ace doesn't fall on the turn or river I knew I would scoop up a large pot.

It turned out to be the right decision for me to raise as he didn't suspect I had a 7 and put me on pocket kings or something like that. As you can see we pounded the living daylights out of each other at the turn and river.

I felt good that I won because I got real lucky, but can't help but feel bad for the dude because he lost a lot in just one hand. I collected a $957 pot which is pretty sweet. Not the biggest pot I've won but still pretty good.

Just made $3700 tonight overall, playing 2 tables of 15/30 so a very sweeeet night playing poker.

I'll take it easy for tonight and just play some tournaments so if there's any of you out there playing at the sites you can visit me now I'll be playing the tournys for a little bit.

hehe, read the third line of the transcript. It says real money.
Also, it's very nice in that it's american currency.

The site is http://www.empirepoker.com or http://www.partypoker.com (both are the same site, empire is a skin of partypoker)

Have you seen people playing holdem poker on TV? it's the same, except this is all online so you can play at home in front of your computer anytime you want.

Poker is so popular now, it's crazy. If you're not familiar with poker, I strongly advise you to not sign up yet and learn more about the game before you jump in.

You can sign up at the site and play with play money, but you won't develop any poker skills because when it's play money people play a lot different than when they have something on the line.

I suggest you sign up at www.paradisepoker.com or www.pokerstars.com first because they have micro limits like .02/.04 limits (2 cents and 4 cents) so you can play to learn the game and it'll barely cost you anything.

There's got to be a catch. You can't just walk away from an online poker game without the company taking its share of your winnings. How much of that money are you actually going to see?

Edit: Nevermind... I just read about it on the site. Not sure whether or not I trust something like that, though. How much money have you made off of doing this so far?

Nice hand man.....

I guess u know u pretty much had him down after the "turn"

I don't want to sound like I'm a shill for the site and that I'm endorsing it. Online poker rooms work like this. You're not playing against the "house" or the "site", you're playing against other players from around the world. The site takes a tiny percentage of every pot won up to a maximum of $3. This may not sound like a lot but when you consider at empirepoker where I play at any given time there may be thousands of tables going on. Basically these guys makes millions.

I was a little apprehensive at first for signing up but once I found out how popular it was and how many people were doing it, it became a lot easier.

The online poker business is like no other. However I recommend that if you do decide to play, that you do so only in the top 4 sites. These sites are entirely legit because they have been around for a while and are just so large and financially sound(empirepoker/partypoker, paradisepoker, pokerstars, and ultimatebet). These guys make so much money that it makes no sense for them whatsoever to cheat you.

Besides I've won so much that it's something I never think about anymore. As far as how much I've made off this so far, I would tell you but you'd think I'm bullshitting you (no joke). For other obvious reasons, I don't think it's appropriate to discuss it here.

Keep in mind though, that I just didn't start playing poker just yesterday. I've been playing poker for years. I've had more experience playing live at casinos, (I think I mentioned this in some other poker threads mentioned in TA). Although now, I prefer to play online much more. There's so many advantages.

Like another poster stated, when I first started I actually lost quite a bit (call it education fee). But I'm a quick learner and got all my money back and a whole lot more

Most people use Neteller now. It's so convenient and fast it's not even funny. It's like using Paypal. You used to be able to use paypal but once ebay bought them, you can't use them anymore.

Credit cards are no good anymore, because a lot of people used them and when they got smoked from playing poker they refused to pay back the credit card companies, so the banks don't allow it anymore.
