pioneer cdj 1000mk2 vs pioneer dvj x1

if you had the money for either one of these which would you choose?
to my knowledge the dvj x1 only has video and dvd capabilty. otherwise its the same as the mk2.

im sorta in a technology state right now and just wondering what people's preferences where...

Im fairly sure you can use cds w/ the dvj-x1. Im also fairly sure you can scratch with them as well. For $3300 someone would expect it to work.

also there are DVD CD-R's that are available of 4gig's +... i dont know why anyone would want ot store that much music on one CD... but the option is there

the dvj x1 does NOT play dvd-audio, or mp3's

Still, i just daydream about all of the crazy stuff someone like dj craze can do w/ the dvj-x1. Just pair those decks w/ a edirol v4, and xone92. Im sure you can use the xone to control the edirol through midi.

I think thats what the big fuss about the xone 92 is. The fact that every aspect of the dj's performance can be controlled using the midi function.

I watched dj yoda using these vdj things. It was alright, but it takes away from the music if you ask me.

you could put your entire record collection on 1 CD. then copy it. now when you go out to DJ all you have to bring is two cds and your headphones

you sure about that? i thought the whole point was to combine video and music, and to control them both at once. james zabiela says eh has a pair in his room he's still experimenting with and plans to take his newgained skills on tour sometime. he says when he scrateches it as if it were his normal CDJ, he has harrison ford flying on and off the screen at super speeds. haha

DVD-Audio is different from DVD Video, DVD-R (Video Mode) and
DVD-RW (Video Mode). Those formats are just different DVD video formats. DVD-Audio and SACD are new audio formats that have much more info (so higher fidelity) but do not have any video information.

Also from the info you posted it looks like mp3s are not compatable either.

Although it would be awesome to be able to burn that many audio tracks on 1 DVD-R, that is not a functionality of the dvj-x1. I do not know the exact techno-speak of why you can't, but it was discussed on the pioneer dj forums. go to www.pioneerprodjforums.com for more info.
