Ask torontotrance, he knows a lot about chill-out and ambient, he reviews it for ivibes.nu i think.

Also, do a search for chill out....you will find many many threads on it.

By the way, i have heard that Blank & Jones' chill-out album is great

I think it's called Blank & Jones - Relax (???)

Electric Calm is good

Someone call my name?

I view chillout/downtempo and ambient as different genres

Zen Connection 1 and 2
You got some decent chill stuff on d:Fuse's new EP
Biosphere's stuff
Ulrich Schnauss's albums

my alltime fave is Global Communications's 76:14 (must have)

I like some of Pork Recordings stuff (Pork 103 was ace)

There are tons of unheard of artists.

Actually I chillout to classical music, most of the time

You should try SCHILLER, one of the best dreamy electronic, chill out music CD I have.

I just got:

Chill in India: Lo mejor de Indian Chill Out

Flamenco Chill 2

They're both made in Spain, but they're good, especially the Flamenco one

I don't know if anyone is familiar with Aural Imbalance or the Deep Space Organisms or anything on the Cadence/Within/Deep Space Recordings labels, but they have some really good chill music. It's really deep, atmospheric, and dubby with a minimal beat to it. Aural Imbalance just mixed a new cd called Intuition. It's well worth a listen.

If you are into Lo-Fi or stuff like that, I'd also recommend Calypso by Sven van Hees. It's such a great lounge cd with a hint of jazz, very appropriate for summer.

Moby Play.. B-Sides

I too am fond of schiller. His weltreise thing is good stuff, among other singles.

As for chilling to classical, I'd try Beethoven's 9th symphony and Antonin Dvorak's Serenades Op. 22 & 44. The former is kind of energetic but euphoric nonetheless.

Dave Seaman's "Back to Mine" album is very good

Posted by 303 on Jun-21-2004 08:38:

that tune almost makes me cry because it reminds me so much of my ex girlfriend

schiller is REALLY good agreed...
you also have Fresh Moods,
Global Psychedelic Chillout series,
Schhh... series,
space night series,
the notorious Cafe Del Mar series,
Hed Kandi Winter Chill series,
Ministry of sound chillout series are also good (some of them gets to intelligent for my tastes, but there are definitively good choons on those discs),
anything from the artist Bent,
Cafe Del mar volume 8 to 10 are really good
Gatecrasher Digital disc 3(from 2001, this disc is absolutely AMAZING, total mindblow, it will take you away)...

allright my 2 cents, but do a search, as this has been throughly discussed earlier.
