He canceled his gig here due to SARS last year...can't blame him though for that he had a point.

Nu Nrg were on my list as well, but they are only spinning for an hour !! I don't think its worth my while to come all the way to Toronto for that.

Dunno Isn't anyone else excited for PVD???!!!

It just seems like Tiesto coming was so much more hyped up. Are there not as many fans of PVD as Tiesto on here? Any info on when he starts his set and how long it's gonna be? Is it gonna be in the main room or Kool Haus? Also I'm going to Guvernment for the first time to see PVD and I wanted to know if I'm gonna have to wait even though I have a ticket and what time should I get there at? Also is there parking around there or should I take a cab? And finally should I be worried about thiefs and leave my wallet, cell, keys etc at home and just put id and money in my sock or something? lol.

I am excited, yes.

Last time he was here, i was bored to death.

Im not going.

Posted by Rodrico on Jun-20-2004 16:44:

No, cause im not going...

Posted by richard raiban on Jun-20-2004 16:48:

last time i saw pvd was @ the koolhaus when scaife opened for him......both of them were SHIT & i was on a fuckin pill!!!

i just could not get into it! he was soooooooo bad

i know that it wasnt a bad pill cuz my friends took the same one and it hit them allowing them to enjoy the night but the music he played was just bruuutal (imo)....

pvd was AMAZING @ gatecrasher 2000 in sheffield stadium!!!

Posted by rabbitjoker on Jun-20-2004 17:15:

I'll quickly add to this:

PvD @ KH in October was good. It wasn't amazing, it wasn't bad - it was an average good night out.

PvD @ Bal en Blanc in April was marginal. Not amazing, not good, but not painful - marginal (which I could understand because some girl rushed the booth and kicked his shit everywhere, but still - suck it up and put on a good show).

I hope PvD is amazing when he comes this week - as this performance by him will probably determine my willingness to go out of the way to see him in the future. If Thursday is a great/amazing show -- I'll go out of my way to see him again in the future, and if not.... probably not.

wasn't deep dish playing in the other room ? why didn't you see them?

Posted by Dj Tezo on Jun-20-2004 17:54:

wwoooww.... it seems no one here likes pvd. Could that be true? has he never played a good set in toronto? Cuz he must be good everywhere else to be #2.

a few of my cheeseball friends wanted to see him so i tagged along. but i dont really like deep dish either. they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too housey!

deep dish music is too slow & lacks energy & pvd's music has no substance. yes its fast and tough but that doesnt mean its good. i prefer brain music, music that has meaning to it...

Posted by DVD2004 on Jun-20-2004 18:02:

I'm going to PVD, but I'm not as hyped as I was for Tiesto. I have never seen PVD but have always wanted to. For one thing, I'm not looking forward to the smallness of the Guvernment (it was too wild for Tiesto) and I felt that Tiesto put on an amazing show at the Guv. and I don't think PVD can top it (IMO). However, I'm looking forward to it, I'm just not as hyped! (If that makes sense)

The Deep Dish criticism, I agree with...BOOORRRRRRRING live.

I had a great time hearing PVD in Oct'03 at KH though...but I heard negative comments about his shows since then, including in Miami.

I'm likely skipping him...saving my excitement for Armin

Posted by Jayx1 on Jun-20-2004 18:44:

People are realizing about PVD what they will soon realize about Tiesto. Just because someone can produce a great track doesnt mean they should be the #1 or #2 DJ.
