Question On The Greeks

According to all of my greek friends, Demis Nikolaidis is their best player. I saw the first 2 matches and he came on as a sub and todays match against Russia he played but I did not see the begining so I couldnt find out if he started. Does anyone have any information on him and his place on the Greek squad. These greeks I know swear he is as good as Vieri!

Hes abit old these days, at one stage he was the striking force for athletico Madrid. Now hes looking into becoming president of AEK soccer Club and prolly has let his form slip. He has been nothing short of pathetic last 3 games. Only about 3-4 years ago he was ripping goals left right center.


In saying that how good is Greeks right back Santorini, an absolute rock!

I don't know who told you this but he probably knows nothing bout soccer heh

That kind of made me think for a while. Santorini is an island in Greece and Seitaridis is the right back that I think you mean.

As for Demis Nikolaidis abilities. You used to be a good player for greek standards but nothing spectacular in my opinion. These Euro games might be his last ever. There are certainly better players in the Greek squad.

little off topic cuz i read the first topic starter.. and im sry but vieri sucked this yr... against Denmark couldnt make a goal with the head wich is pretty sad for such a good international player..

Agree. Vieri was awful in the Euro had a good season with Inter especially since all the drama this year. Thanks for the replys I thought Demis was just average. I guess it is because they do not know much about footy. I keep telling them he is too old and should become owner of AEK. They also think that AEK is one of the best clubs in Europe. The Greek bias in these kids is too much!

Demis used to be great 2-3 years back.Then the injuries came...
Our team this time really doesnt have a star.We came where we are with team work and our great coach.

demis is all comercial now! he doesnt really play that good!
