Headphones

after a few years service, my headphones died last nite. probably because of the constant caning and biting they have to endure day after day but anyway, i need a pair for my md player to listen on the move. any recomendations?

Posted by Unknown DJ on Jun-21-2004 14:49:

already have a pair dude. i want some for my personal md player. i dont feel comfortable wearing them out, some twat will probably nick them off my head. and they mess up my hair

personally i didnt like the pioneer hdj1000s :/, stanton djpro2000s is the way to go! and 50 quid cheaper than the hdj2000s !.

Sony MDR-Q55SL/SILVER

I have similar headphones to these, Ive had them for about 2 1/2 years now, they have since been discontinued, but they are still going strong.

Go with these:

I use them for my iPod.. Not too big, not too small. Good highs and lows for a portable set, and they have taken a good beating so far and come out unwounded. :P

they'll still mess up your hair, what's the best one's that aren't big eg. earbud type?

This is the way to go:

Sennheiser HD 25

Posted by 3xx3r7 on Jun-22-2004 02:39:

Sennheiser HD-280 will do. I love those...

Posted by sigmanova on Jun-22-2004 02:54:

but the HD-280's are surprisingly very fragile at the headband...mine are cracking already & it hasn't been a year yet =(

then again these have been abused 5-6 hours a day for almost 9 months straight ^_^

but still -_-

I'm not saying they're amazing, but they work good for just casual listening.

I have the Shure E3's. For just listening to tunes they are amazing, best I've ever heard. Wouldn't be suitable for DJ'ing however.

Whatever you do, don't buy sennheiser phones, i've had like 6 hd-280 pros with broken headband, and after 6. time I took them to the store, they had to stop selling those :P, and this was all in a 6month period. Now I have sennheiser hd-590 phones, but the left element is broken just after a week, so I think i'm gonna go AKG this time

btw. good phones for portables are KOSS the plug, good bass, decend sound quality.

Posted by Lil-H on Jun-26-2004 12:29:

Just buy Koss - Porta pro, High quality sound, deep bass, light, they don't itch your ears, like neckband, maybe that's just me, I have so small head and small ears

Mine broke a week ago, so I'm sending them in. Lifetime warranty is kewl

Sennheiser HD 495

very robust, and very light, it's got a pretty thick cable so it won't break fast.

Just ordered myself the E2's. I've heard nothing but good stuff about them and I can't wait for them to get here. Almost got the E3's, but my wallet was running on low on the moolah.
