Vocals.....

Personally, I reckon most trance with vocals is real crap - well at least the stuff I've heard is.... I reckon the trance sans vocals is better. Some songs with vocals are pretty kewl though e.g.

Mind One - Star for Me (original or pulser mix)
Andain - Beautiful things (cor fijneman mix)
aurora feat. naimee coleman - original world (above and beyond mix)

what about you guys?? - any suggestions to any new stuff coz im not really sure what to get a hold of...

when i first got into trance i didnt like vocals either, and i guess in general that holds now.. but there are some exceptions. try sultan & the greek - wadi. theres some good vocal prog for you. just look around alot, theres some good vocal stuff out there, although sometimes its hard to believe

One of the FEW vocals that I don't think are cheesy in trance are from:

Piledriver (Greyedout Summer) - Amoeba Assassin

Thats excluding non-english vocals, since then I can't tell whether they are saying stupid cheesy lines, or something creative.

The Aurora track would be 'Ordinary World', no biggie, we all make mistakes.

Best vocal tracks around at the mo would have to be

Girl Nobody - Cages (Lemon8 Remix)
Deepsky - Talk Like A Stranger
Matt Hardwick Vs Smith & Pledger - Connected


Some older ones would be

Lustral - Broken
Sipping Soma - Superconscious
Oceanlab - Clear Blue Water

One to totally miss is

Hemstock & Jennings - Crimson Soil (2004 Remake)
stick with the original of that one, so much better

The best vocal tracks are those that are produced with vocals in mind, not ones that have them added as an afterthought.

Therefore the best vocal tracks will come from

Chakra/Space Brothers
Tilt
Jan Johnston
Agnelli & Nelson
Lustral
Way out West

and in general those who have made vocals for quite a while, then again the choice of vocalist is also necessary

nothing & satellite & atrc = garbage imo stay away

My first 3 songs are probably gonna get a lot of critism but honestly those songs are just perfectly fine and sophisticated when applyied to the remixes I labeled...

Space Korn vs Artificial - Inside of me

Theres this Dj Darkzone track that sounded ok, then all of a sudden this guy says "I'm big brother and i'm watching you" it just totally ruins it, they use it 3 or 4 times in the track, it is absolutely terrible. Must be soem of the worst track vocals I've ever heard.

also not nice vocals:
Iio - smooth

Good vocals:
kyau vs albert - Velvet morning (can't remeber what mix though)
Sholan - can you feel(thrillseekers mix)

Personally I like tracks where I can hear fabolous vocals by Elles de Graaf, Sarah McLachlan, Justine Suissa, Erica Baxter or Jan Johnston!

Rising Star - Touch Me. An absolutely class tune, not many vocals there but I think they work well.

As I go trough my record crate now, I find that my vocal trance collection is getting bigger and bigger. I used to hate vocal trance when I got into trance aswell, but now, there's some real quality stuff out there. These are the tracks that I can't get enough of now that I just love,

Does anyone else think that vocals maybe helping save our love for Trance? Just a question.
