Mixing Software/hardware?

Hi, I was wondering if any software has come out yet better than Traktor-(What version is the newest?)

Also, currently, which is better between software or hardware for mixing?

I don't know of anything bettter than traktor. If your asking what's the latest version of it. I think it's 2.5. As for the software vs hardware quetion. I think it's more about what you're comfortable with, how much money you plan to spin, where do you want to be as a dj in the future. I like hardware better, but that is all I've pretty much used.

hardware owns software's ass, its the same with everything audio. if you don't want to spend any money, don't start djing, its very expensive

What about Ableton LIVE. I'm not sure if it's a dj program exactly, but I hear that big names use it in clubs on their laptops.

i'm not sure how good it is, but i have heard that alot of the big boys in europ use one of these 2 programs
-cubase sx (or sx2 if u have the money for it its worth 499 british pounds)
and
-pro tools
see how you go
if u get 1 of the 2 let me know how good it is

cubase is a production tool, useless for mixing. and protools, i'm not sure if you can actually mix live with it..?
