WOW! Nice chord progression and instruments. really love the composition. But drumloops dont fit to the song. Can you change these to breaks or ambient loops? then Perfect track. Keep it Up! Good potential. Nice.

ola.. very relaxed, intro sound wicked.

Posted by tc-fan on Jun-24-2004 14:56:

omg this track is sooo awesome...

Posted by eulerfx on Jun-24-2004 16:47:

Great intro, though I don't really like some of those dj sfx. Toward the end, the track loses direction. If you have some progression this will be a great track...

Those tribal drums int he end sound really good.

Well ya know, as I've said...this track isnt even done yet...or in its final mixed stage...might even take some stuff out...who knows

oh and THANKS FOR THE COMMENTS EVERYONE

and heres a little something, heh...might help some make sense out of the unfinished song...

rhapsody n. pl. rhapsodies
1. Exalted or excessively enthusiastic expression of feeling in speech or writing.
2. A literary work written in an impassioned or exalted style.
3. A state of elated bliss; ecstasy.
4. Music. A usually instrumental composition of irregular form that often incorporates improvisation.
5. An ancient Greek epic poem or a portion of one suitable for uninterrupted recitation.

The intro, while professional sounding, is really cheesy. Great effects and automation. Percussion is...well, lame. It sounds like something straight from one of those old midi keyboards, and lacks depth. A very relaxing tune, I must say, though it tends to drag on a bit too long.

Pretty good work overall.

Definitely not a bad tune at all! Cheers mate! I'm looking forward to whatever else you might put out!

i'm at :30 seconds and so far this has been off the chain!

oh man! downtempo.. i didnt even realize until just now

love it when you drop the beat, gate, and then come back in.

wonderful use of phasing / other fx at 2:40

the production quality is really nice sounds awesome on my system.

i think a softer / deep kick might fit the feel better, but thats just a matter of taste.

i'll listen to this again for sure. nice work

Posted by cistane on Jun-26-2004 06:36:

yea thanks man...heh, the beats were pretty much just a sad attempt to have the crisp/high quality beats that i hear on many PvD tracks ...i still have yet to achieve this level of greatness...drivin me pretty crazy trying to figure out how Paul van Dyk does it

Posted by Digital Aura on Jun-27-2004 01:42:

Answer one thing honestly though...

Did those tribal drums, etc come off of a sampler CD or something? They sound incredibly canned... almost didn't fit!

Gotta say a very cool track tho!

Posted by cistane on Jun-27-2004 05:20:

No...everything is made with reason 2.5 in that song...no samples...all synths and drums i made...but thanks man, i appreciate the compliment...cheers m8

Uhhhh...WOW guy...this stuff, forgetting all flaws and things that need improvement, is gorgeous. It actually made me smile...it's just beautiful. I love the FX...they don't combine with the song but I still enjoy them. I like the gated choir a lot...and everything is so varied...great job. The rhythm is just not for that song...sounds too synthetic...but everything else is gorgeous. Screw the flaws, I give you 10 out of 10...I enjoyed it...replay value very high. I'll probably memorize it.

Posted by cistane on Jun-27-2004 09:19:

oh yea definitely man...i know what youre talking about when you say flaws...there are a lot of them in that track...but that specific one was made just to get the concept out there...to see what people think of those sounds clashing together...im currently in the process of making a final copy of "Mystic Rhapsody"...ill let you guys hear it as soon as im done...oh and thanks man for the nice comments...your stuff aint so bad either...if you ever want to do a collab...let me know...thanks again man!

i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it

Shuay. Very shuay. I love the synths you use. I also really like your phasing and effects.

However, at points interspersed throughout the beginning, when the drums cut out entirely, it feels empty. I'd really like to hear some sort of fill. Be it a kick fill or some enveloped snare fill or what have you, just fill in the empty spaces.

I also think your hats would sound much more interesting with a flanger.

very nice track, altho maybe a bit too much reverb. what do you mean you made drum sounds in reason 2.5? hows that posible? the beat doesnt fit at all. very crisp production tho. i like it

Posted by cistane on Jun-28-2004 13:54:

I made the drum riffs not the sounds...when i said no samples, i meant none from a sample CD

and about the reverb...heh what can i say? i love the atmosphere you can get with reverb

I'm envious! How come my songs always sound like garbage?

I want to make something like this, now. Inspired.

It's so close to what my favorite song would be!
