-- rb2k1 and others, what about a similar trance bank for VSTi users?!

Arrow JP8000 VSTi and sound

Hey rb2k1 and others,

Creating a trance bank for the JP8000 is fine for those people who have the synth but alot of people can't afford this synth, so what about a similar trance bank for VSTi users. I don't know which VSTi would be best suited: the Superwave synths, Z3ta, V-Station, etc..

I still haven't heard a VSTi being able to make the supersaw trance lead/pad sound as full as the JP8080 like this: http://users.skynet.be/soundfiles/superstring.mp3 If anybody can make a patch for a VSTi like this, please also post an mp3 demo if possible. Thanks!

it would be easier to sample a sytnh....

do you have to create a thread for every dumb little question of yours that doesn't get answered?

i wouldn't waste my time creating a bank for 90% of VSTis becuase they all sound like shit..

RB2k1 isn't an amazing programmer or anything.. his patches sound good becuase he is working with good hardware..

if you want a "trance" bank.. Bank C on z3ta 1.40 is designated to be for trance..

now for some more constructive discussion..

me and ross are actually planning on designing a software replica of the jp8080. the project is pending on me actually getting a jp8080 so i can multisample the bejesus out of it. i went to school for computer programming and me and ross have already worked on some DSP projects together, so whenever i actually get an 8080, ross and i are going to get this project going (ross already has most of the gui done). it will be released freely (and not released until it sounds exactly like the 8080). it will load 8080 patches and come with loads of patches programmed by me, ross, and whoever else wants to help out..

it will probably be several months before it is release but you have been warned !

That would be fantastic, pretty broke myself so i cnt afford any hardware, that plug-in would really help alot of young producers

i didn't intend my post to be negative.. if i've offended anyone (which I doubt I have) then I appologize..

@dj-rob - "some" credit sure, for the time he spent on programming those patches.. it does take some time, this I know from experience.. but manuel from vengeance-sound is an amazing programmer.. 3/4 of rb2k1s bank was supersaws and I honestly wasn't very impressed by it..

Now just fukk 0ff alanzo. Everyone thinks you're an asshole, along with Vert and the other muppets. And dont you have a wannabe 'trance production' site of your own to go trolling in by now ?
I'll sure do alot to bring that site down.

What's with all the neg attitude flyin around. Some of you guys sound like you need to find some dirty tramp who'll lick your rim, tie you down and slam all this attitude out of you. (sorry, been watchin porn), but seriously, keep it to yourself.

I've always stayed out of arguments here but its getting a bit rough lately.

Dance123, there are plenty of banks flying around the internet for free for various softsynths. There is a thread around here with some links (should be on the first page).

way to come out from under your bridge just to insult me.. we don't plan on having a forum ATM so we won't have to put up with trolls like you

Man thats funny ... good joke lol ... its almost as funny as what this forum is becoming .. whats going on anyway .. this should be a place for sharing ideas and generally moving forward in the world of trance production

Posted by Vert on Jun-23-2004 20:53:

Grow up cryogenic. You insulted me, and I'm not even posting in this thread. Don't you have a bridge to go stand under?

The only troll around here is you bud.

Hi dance123,

I dont think you need those patches. As far as i know you can achieve great sound with VSTi. Here is something i made with Vstation+Atmosphere. Sounds abit thin right now but with some extra layering this could be fucking massive imo.

Rank 1 -Airwave (pad)

Hope this helps,

Antonio.

Thats sweet d00d ... it just needs a little eqing imo

Posted by Swing on Jun-23-2004 23:29:

You know, if you could afford your soft synths ...

... a second hand 8000/8080 isn't that much more ...

Posted by Kire_22 on Jun-24-2004 10:16:

Hi all!

I'm making a new Trance-soundset for the Z3ta+!

Look and listen here: http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...threadid=190512

Cheers,
Kire

you are most definitely correct i love software (i don't even own a hardware synth [besides a SID chip that i haven't built a synth with yet :P haha]). It is totally possible to get a HUGE sound with free vst's and effects. The thing is with software.. a lot of the time it doesn't sound that HUGE coming 'straight out of the box' so to speak. what this means (like antonio was saying) is that more layers and effects / eq'ing are necessary to acheive that PHAT sound you are after (in general) when you are working with software.

with a wonderful synth like the 8080, it sounds bad ass 'straight out of the box' so to speak and doesnt need lots of extra processing.

now.. one is not better than the other.. it's just about how you use your tools (not what tools you have.. although some tools are easier / take less time than others)

in my perfect studio i would have lots of hardware and software running together because i like lots of different types of tools at my disposal.. but that's just me (and you can't download an 8080 or a virus B [yet ])
