Thumbs up Blake Jarrell

I'm diggin this guys productions.

Firstly, Apricot (w/ Starkid) was fuckin ace.

And I just heard Airships and Thumpie which were good as well, anyone got anymore info on the guy (productions/remixes)? I know he's young and from New Orleans and is obviously friends w/ Starkid anything else?

blake throws down, nuff said.

he's got an excellent new track that is breakbeat but with a lot of more experimental edits in the older aphex vein, and a very early 90's synth scapes that is excellent, i think he's in the process of getting it out there, so that should be nice.

we're planning on doing another single soon and perhaps a new mix of apricot. fun times ahead, blake is getting more and more awesome all the time.

Nice thanks for the info, btw did release ever decide if they're gonna press more vinyl of Crayons (Orig/Scribblin on the walls mixes)?

Coz I fuckin love that track as well and would love to own on wax

Posted by starkid on Jun-23-2004 20:03:

i am not aware of any plans, perhaps try emailing them (not sure who to email there) and ask if they have any copies and if not, encourage them to press more

:P

BOLLOCKS! i can't believe i missed out on getting that on vinyl...you simply can't top the scribblin on the walls mix

perhaps someone can make a new remix of the track to get the label interested in doing something about another/new release....???

Posted by Zenchowdah on Jun-24-2004 01:15:

uh, antron. i believe mine is better.

Posted by AntronVee on Jun-24-2004 02:27:

haha, your artwork is better, but mine has transformers.....i dunno where to draw the victory line

Posted by UWM on Jun-24-2004 03:31:

Transformers are the winners.

Starkid, what's your take on Leama & Moor's remix of Crayons?

Posted by starkid on Jun-24-2004 03:35:

brilliance

Posted by UWM on Jun-24-2004 03:39:

I couldn't really get into it for some reason. Still listen to the original every now and again though.

Have you produced any more solo efforts recently?

Posted by starkid on Jun-24-2004 05:06:

a few things here and there, me and blake did another remix, and i did a few things that a couple misceallaneous people like, and blah blah

not really, i haven't felt anything lately so it's been a bit lacking

been working on a couple remixes and things, which is fun

i'm doing more of an experimental songwriting album and that is taking up most of my time

but be ready i hope!

Rob you prefer orig over scribblin on the walls mix? They are quite similar but I think I have to give the vote to scribblin. Either way my thread has been almost completely hijacked, poor Blake, lol

Love Poundin' Sensation

Apricot is brilliant, so is Crayons, keep up the good work

Adam-a! aaaaaaaa!

Seriously though, do keep us updated.

I sense if there were enough tracks in the same vein, there could be a Nourishing Fruits & Writing Utensils package.

Posted by starkid on Jun-24-2004 14:36:

apricot is 90% blake, and his newer stuff is even better

he shall rock on

Thanks alot for the support guys!!!

in the pipeline:
Those Two Guys - 33 Rev (Blake Jarrell and Starkid's Crunker Remix) is coming out on Looq recordings at the end of this month if im not mistaken, its peak time breaks with big synth hooks. there should be an audio sample on www.looq.com in the upcoming releases section.

Ive got a new orignal that Starkid was speaking of thats being looked at by a certain label. no word on that yet. im hoping for the best. im doing other remix work for now.

I work full time and go to school full time so i dont really have as much time to produce as i would like. Starkid does also so its hard for us to get together to work on something, but well see.

thanks for listening!

Posted by AntronVee on Jun-30-2004 21:48:
