Tiesto @ Icon review
Oh my God!!!! I was totally exhausted @ Icon. Tiesto threw an amazing set, the best so far in 2004. As much as PvD whore I am, tonight, I was Tiesto'ed.
Actual review later. Sleepy now....
WOW this set was soo good!!! He played markus schulz style for an hour then progressed into his harder stuff and anthem tracks. It was Tiesto in rare form. Soooooooo Good! I dont think ill ever see tiesto play like that in the near future. Meaning the style he playd tonight was not usual. The sound in the club was ok as well. I had FREAKIN ROOM TO DANCE!!!! went nuts! More review later, final tomarrow at 9am.
I had such a fuckin awesome time!!!!!!
Acutal review tommarow. Probably some shitty vid's of mine too. Peace everyone
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!just when i was starting to have my doubts, tiesto totally redeems himself, with a vengence. the energy, tracks, and he himself was having SO MUCH FUN, it just carried over to the crowd. im not great at id'ing tracks but there were too many good ones to name(dream machine was great), im serious when i say he didnt play ONE BAD TRACK, NOT ONE. and i think even usual tiesto pundits like james and 3xxr7 will agree that the mixing was on point tonite too. ive probably seen tiesto live cominig up on twenty times and this definitly ranks in the top five, just a vintage tiesto journey. this set just totally blew the his set at space out of the sky, honestly the first fifteen minutes of this set was better than all of last friday nite, plus he was so much more into this one. when he's on top of his game, like tonite, it is pretty hard for anyone to step, he just was feeling the crowd so perfectly, anticipating what you wanted to hear. i had so much fun, it was nice hanging with trancebrat,ex dj, bshido heat, rach, breakin beats(should change his name to bustin' moves!) and whoever else i forgot. but SHOW SOME LOVE FOR TIESTO!!!! i cant wait to see him again sunday nite!! THE ORIGINAL TIESTO WHORE AND LOVIN IT!!!!

Tonight was perfect! Tiesto definitely redeemed himself. What a fuckin' set! OMG!
But I will definitely do one later today!
Well just got home, soooo tired just exhausted from the fuckin heat and running around all night. But to make it all worth it Tiesto signed my copy of Love Comes again, A Summer Breeze poster from when he came to Icon 3 yrs ago, and to top it off I asked him if he had a copy of Solid Globe- Sahara and he said yeah and I asked him to play it he apologized to me cus he could not find the right place to fit it into the set and gave me the copy and Signed it as well....fuckin KICK ASS is all I gotta say. Whatta great night other then the damn Ac taking a nose dive fuckin christ it was soo hot!!!!!!!!
Ohh yeah forgot to mention whatta kick ass Vibe in the room tonight!! I know most of the energy was just pouring out of the TA's dancing their ass off in the middle of the room...damn it kicks ass sometimes to work @ Icon but then tonight what do I get.....fuckin HIP HOP WOOOHOO lol
OMFGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!! I wanted to go

WOW! Tiesto totally owned Icon last night! Best set I've heard from him this year IMO and all the TAs agreed it blew his set at Space away. If everytime I saw him it was like this I probably could be a Tiesto whore.
So we get there at like 11:30 after chilling at Crooked Bayou, and some house (not good house either) dj is opening, aaah i knew it, shoulda had one of us TAs open!
Jeff C?
But fortunately only like 20 mins later we're hanging out by VIP and I see Frank carrying a record case, that can only mean one thing.. then spot Tijs right behing him!! He walks right by us and no one but me & Neil seem to notice at first LOL then everyone notices and starts cheering. Then he gets right on the decks too, doesn't even chill - woooooo 3 hour set!
Started off with that proggy sound you all know I love:
01. Girl Nobody - Cages (Lemon8 mix)
02. Tilt - The World Doesn't Know
03. (don't know the name)
04. Tiesto - Walking On Clouds
OMFG!! Walking On Clouds!! Already better than the set at Space by this point.
So many more choons I know throughout the set just can't remember.. there were too many! The set progressed perfectly from the prog to harder dance-your-ass-off tracks and hands-in-the-air anthems all pretty much solid hits. He definately snuck that BPM up too
Hell yea, despite the no AC and sweating balls that didn't stop me or any of us from dancing like crazed mofos, especially not Pat
What a great time with my Orlando TAs (Pat, Rachel, Neil, Phil, Hope, Jeff, Ben, Ben's bro, Stan) and of course Ryan, and Amber great seeing you again!
10 days til the 4th, 15 til Rise
- James
WoW Im focking jealous I wasn't there. Figures Tiesto would tear it up after his 'not so great' Space set. Hes sooo hit or miss anymore.
But thats ok cause im leaving for NYC in about 7 hours and SummerStage/Spirit is tomorrow. For those of you that arn't coming to SS......see you in Atlanta on the 9th.

I'm so jealous.
I had a total blast lastnight. It was totally worth the drive from G'ville. Good times hangin out at crooked bayou for the mini pre-part. Icon did a top notch job handling admission. Absolutely no obnoxious lines to wait in. It was nice having room to dance also. Man, Pat is a dancin machine. The set was so awesome. I liked the couple of breaks tunes he threw down in the middle to transition going from a more chill style trance to the bangin stuff.
I thought the soundsystem was good also.
I rate this clubbing experience and 8 out of 10. it wold have been 10 out of 10 if there was a good prog dj opening.

Once again I had such a good time.... all the TA's made it sooo special.
The opening DJ was ok, when I first got to Icon (around 10 or so) I walked around the club to see if any TA's were there. None, so my bro (Brainfreeze aka Ed *not George,
LOL!*) and I bounce out to the CB, where Stan and Matt were chillin. A lil' after that, Rachel and Ryan come in. A few moments afterwards, Jeff, Hope, Pat, and James come within minutes of each other. Sorry I didn't really stay at the CB to hear ya'll, we didn't stay too long, just went to the club to see how it was.
Amazingly it was as packed as I've ever seen it. More than Oakenfold, and a lot more packed than Sander. And Tiesto wasn't even on yet. The AC issue was pretty bad, so many people so little air plus, lots of smoking
That didn't stop me from having the time of my life.
Finally the man, Tiesto came to the decks, me my bro and Pat and Stan were right there watching him pick out his vinyls then the new guy Pyso came too. Pat was nice enough to take a pic of Tiesto for like everyone. Thanks Pat!
BTW it sucked that security wouldn't let anybody take pics. I was ready to take a good pic of Tiesto then they said no cameras
. That didn't stop me from having the time of my life.
In the beginning of Tiesto's set, I was still in the back Stan and Pat left. But Amber appered! My bro and I chilled there for awhile, trying to get his attention and looked for something for him to sign.
Saddly it failed seeing all the teenyboppers were crowding the space. But it's ok, I thought it was cool to see Tiesto sign stuff. In between walking around the various fans, and AC ducts I run into Frank, Neal, Ryan again. (Tiesto noticing your phone was fuckin awesome bro!)
Fast forward to the middle of the set, we make it to the TA's part of the dance floor. We should be proud of ourselves, the energy was fuckin right fuckin there. Between the TA's and Tiesto. It was awesome, I loved the build up in his set, he threw some breaks in as well, and towards the end it turned hard. I loved every minute of it.
Props to Pat who I didn't see stand still for one breath, dancing until the very end. Stan who looked like he just came out of the shower. Matt and Neal, nice meeting ya'll both tonight we'll most definitely party in the future. Ryan for just being a pimp with that cell phone recongition from Tiesto is always pimp. Rachel, I knew nothing could hold you down, have fun at Summer Stage! Jeff good job callin the 9.5. jking
you and Hope, have fun at Summer Stage and be safe!
. Phil, it's better late than never! James, great seein you bro, sorry about calling you the wrong name.
. Frank, dude that's so fuckin awesome, pimp bro! Amber, good to hear you got home safe, we need to party sometime in Tampa! I also thought I saw some miami/ft.lauderdale people I didn't get to say hi though.
Sorry if I forgot anyone... what an awesome night.
I had the time of my life.

oh yea, and how could i forget in the review earlier:
Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix)
classic!! that one owned us all fo sho
Now the review.
I came to Icon somewhere around 10:00. Went to Crooked Bayou, no one was there. Went to Icon, there was a considerable line. Somewhere toward the end of it, I saw Matt. After waiting for couple minutes, we went in and DJ was playing some good tunes. After getting exit stamps, Matt and I went to CB. After chilling for a bit, Ben and his brother come in. After that, the rest of TA's came eventually. Pat and James were on decks at CB, spinning some tracks.
Then we went to Icon. In my view, DJ played decent stuff. We went upstairs to meet up with remaining TA's. After chiiling for a bit, Pat and I go to DJ booth entrance. After a while, I see a security guard clearing a way and then I see Tijs. I was like: "Oh my God!!!"
After selecting his records he started spinning almost immidiately. After a while I could not resist and went downstairs to the dance floor. I started dancing and just could not stop. Every single track was amazing. AC was a problem, I had to go to the bathroom like five times and put my head under the faucet for couple minutes. I was dancing to the end, screaming my head off. Tiesto was simply amazing that night.
All of the TA's who went there felt the same way I did. You guys were awesome as usual. I had the best time that night. Like I stated before, all of you, who decided to dismiss this performance as just another mediocre Tiesto night, missed a incredible whole lot.
