Unremixable tracks!!!

I wanted to know what tracks u feel is so flawless you can never imagine anybody could ever remix it and make it any better at all..

Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown

Push vs. Globe - Tranceformation

Deniro - State Of Mind

Posted by Floorfiller on Jun-24-2004 18:54:

Jon Vesta - Gull

there are those couple of mixes...but they really shouldn't have been done.

three drives - greece2000
don't mess with the original!!! you cannot make it more perfect than it already is

BT - Flaming June . . . I've heard this touched, and it was touched in a VERY CRUEL WAY

I don't think most remixes of BT's work come off well. If they do, then they usually take the opposite approach (like the straightahead Junkie XL remix of "Somnambulist", which was an approach in the vein of Gabriel & Dresden's remix of Way Out West's "Mindcircus") instead of trying to pile on additional complexity.

I listen to remixes generally not to hear a "better" version, but to me, it's like a alterative universe sort of thing.

plastic boy - live another life

only heard one remix (gil schwartz) and didnt really like it. never heard any other remixes and should stay that way

M.I.K.E.'s productions. If you mess with them, they lose their unique style. He, on the other hand, is an amazing "remixer". His remixes really add flavour and depth.

I totally agree with you on all points here. BT - Dreaming was touched, too...by Tiesto (I'm neither aware of ..nor have listened to other remixes, if they exist) and Tiesto's remix made my ears bleed. It was god awful.

Remixes are the Remixer's take on the track, I feel

True. I love the original mix of Push - Journey of life but I couldn't even listen to the Rank 1 remix of that track in it's entirety. I just couldn't. And I've seen people who actually happen to enjoy the Rank 1 remix more than the original. Oh well..tastes do differ.

You're right about his remixing abilities as well. Now how good is Matanka - Lost in a dream (Push Trancedental Mix), for example. It's Orgasmic...ooh

I agree with Jon Vesta - Gull and BT - Flaming June. Also, Paul van Dyk - For An Angel and Robert Miles - Children.

Tiesto's remix of Dreaming isn't all that, true, but there's one remix of it that does rock - Lucid's 12 Inch Mix. Tiesto used it on In Search of Sunrise 2, it's extremely nice.

As for other unremixable tracks....
Sasha - Xpander is all that comes to mind right now, you guys hit the other big ones

Posted by Floorfiller on Jun-24-2004 19:58:

i agree on the fact that the Lucid mix is the best of BT - Dreaming...wonderful track

as for another don't touch no no track...

Gouryella - Gouryella

has never really needed a remix.

I love the sfx of the marbles dropping. In fact, I love everything about that remix.

Posted by DiMethGuy on Jun-24-2004 20:05:

I know most will disagree with me...but i think there shouldn't have been any remixes of

DJ Tiesto - Flight 643

Posted by lcid on Jun-24-2004 20:09:

Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (some remixes are okay, but the Signum mix, which seems to be the most popular... i HATE)
Vadim Zhukov - Exit
Solar Stone vs Scott Bond - 3rd Earth
Chable & Bonicci - Ride
Shane 54 & Abel Ramos - Kippenvelmeter
James Holden - A Break In The Clouds

are the ones i can think of off the top of my head right now.

Push - Journey of Life
Rank 1's remix was horrible.

Tisto - Flight 643
The remixes are allright (namely Windsider - Hidden Flight, though it's a mashup), but nothing really captures the energetic feeling like the original.

there's a song on GU 012 with a marble dropping effect that i love. i need to figure out which one it is, 'cause i know it's not that one.

some tracks by benny benassi cant be touched, they hav his style of electro house all over them, if you remix them you may as well pass them off as your own

Posted by Floorfiller on Jun-24-2004 22:22:

i also would have to say that

CJ Bolland - The Prophet

shouldn't have been remixed...that tune was good as the original...even if it sounds a bit older...still good stuff...

And some of them shouldn't have been created in the first place.
