http://www.zenfestival.com/ I think might be better.

I am sure this is a dumb question but do they sell tickets just for certain shows? All I am interested in seeing this year is Rabbit in the Moon. The rest of the lineup really doesnt impress me too much.

Posted by Jiffy on Jul-01-2004 16:47:

NO. Only one ticket. Not any for individual shows.

Posted by Christoph on Jul-01-2004 17:04:

Ins and Outs are allowed btw. So if you aren't impressed with seeing Public Enemy or Common you can leave go eat or something and come back.

good call,... if im not in Atlanta i might come down and check this out,... alast i have no compadres to go with,... any takers?? (damn, that sounds lonely and desperate)

Posted by D Dubya on Jul-04-2004 18:14:

I might be moving to dallas for a couple months starting next weekend. If I end up moving then I want to go and see this for sure. Are they still selling tickets online for this and when is the cutoff date? Also, is there any hookup for TAs? Let me know please. Thanks.

Posted by Christoph on Jul-04-2004 18:18:

Ill be there. No way I would miss Rabbit in the Moon.

Posted by D Dubya on Jul-06-2004 23:49:

Okay, I picked up two tickets and a parking pass for 36 total - be jealous. Now, isn't there an afterparty with Paul Oakenfold that night? Which club is it? Where are they selling tickets? Let me know if you know. Thanks

I'll be leaving for Dallas tomarrow after work (4pm). Gonna spend 2 nights at the hotel for a safer road trip. My friend Vence and I can't wait. Him and I are very excited.

Posted by Eric Siefer on Jul-09-2004 17:58:

I'll definitely be there.
Wish there was some way of spotting TA's at the show.
Maybe I'll stumble upon someone, but i'm doubtful.

Anyway I'm goin to have a blast there, so I hope everyone else does the same. I'll have to post some pictures when I get back.

DAMN! Zen Fest was great! I was kind of sad that the turnout was poor. I am pretty sure whoever put all that together lost their asses which is unfortunate. I saw Public Enemy, Particle, Christopher Lawrence (which they only gave him a set long enough to throw down like 6 records - he wasn't too happy about that) and Rabbit In The Moon. If you have the chance to see RITM perform live I HIGHLY recommend it. It was one of the coolest shows I have ever seen - tremendous stage presence and crazy effects.

All in all it was awesome. Even most of the girls there that night were very good looking... I love Dallas.

Posted by Eric Siefer on Jul-12-2004 19:13:

Yea the turnout was pretty slim, but the music more than made up for it.

Commons Dj was insane, Public Enemy was a good classic to see,
I dont remember much of Christopher Lawrence's set but that could have been because I was under the influence.

And Rabbit in the Moon was insane! I too recommend goin to see a live show to anyone. Just wish I would have caught one of those flags the samurai was throwin to the crowd.

Cameras weren't allowed and the ones on my phone are fuzzy so I wont post any.
Did pick up a few "Bunny Dollars" which are nice little souveniers.

Yea, I was going to catch one, but there was some little girl in front of me and I wasn't going to knock her over. Would have been really cool to get one though.

What are Bunny Dollars?

Also, just out of curiousity, what songs did they play after they left the stage? I heard them come back on and start playing again, but I was on the way to my truck.

Zen Fest was the shit. If anybody saw a guy wearing tan UFO's, black tanktop and a black Hawaiian shirt duing the russian dance a lot, that was me. I wish more people showed up but I still had a blast. Anyone remember that guy matt that went on stage when Common was looking for someone to flow?

Must say there were a lot of hotties in the house that day. Dallas is a very confusing city but I loved the venue. I hope they have another Zen Fest next year.

Posted by Legion on Jul-13-2004 15:47:

This was a waste of time and money. $45 bucks plus gas money from SA down the drain. At least Oakey's set was awesome at the Liz Lounge. Sad there was more ppl there than total at Zen Fest. Friend of mine said they lost 10,000 on Zen Fest. Sucks for them

Posted by Christoph on Jul-13-2004 16:59:

Yes Zen Fest was probally a total loss this year. I sitll hada great time. The after parties all went off. Like someone already said Oakenfold pulled more than Zen. Im pretty sure one of the reasons this event failed is because of how it was promoted/the price/the venue. Anyway lets hope there is another zen fest next year, but not at American Airlines Center.

Posted by jessicah on Jul-13-2004 17:45:

It seemed kind of dumb to be having ZenFest and Oakenfold on the same night. I mean why would people pay so much to get into both places? (even though there was a discount for ZenFest ticketholders at Oakey, it wasn't much.) I'm not surprised turnout for ZenFest sucked.

Heard Oakenfold was ok, though not a lot of people were into it. We need more trance love here in DFW.

He just jumped on for a minute or so, and then left again.

I'll see if I cant scan a bunny dollar and put it on my sig.

If anyone saw the guy with the sublime hat, that was me. Was also with 2 chicks, one with a "know your shrooms" shirt, and the other was very pink.

So many people there I doubt anyone saw/remembered any of my group.

Definitely was quite a few dope ass chicks there though, personally I was diggin the 2 chicks wearing next to nothing walking around the show.

On the shirt did it have a bumch of mushrooms like 1up, extra life, etc. All from Super Mario Bros? Her name was Ashley right? She goes to Texas Tech and use to go to Westlake High in Austin? Please tell me I got the right person.

DUDE! I know exactly which girls youre talking about. They were cuties. Especially that one in the black and white stripe socks and arm bands. She was wearing that small ass skirt and she kept pulling it down to show off her black and white underwear. hahaha

I had a good time. I don't think it was a waste of money.

You got the person right, but the name is wrong. I'll keep you wondering just because I dont feel I should disclose that info.

just wondering, you weren't that crazy guy that was trippin and freaked out when he saw the ants comin out of the ground?
