Best Mario Cart character

Who is the best Mario cart character to be?

I'm talking about Nintendo 64 here.

I prefer Yoshi, b/c he's small but doesn't always get run over like Toad.

I suck at turning with bowser

he's good though at the beginning when you get the rocket start and can spin everybody out that's ahead of you

for snes mariokart: Koopa Troopa
for n64: Wario (though in time trials SOMEHOW princess was my best, EXPLAIN THAT PLEASE, cause i wouldn't hit any walls, and could do like 4 power slide turns on damn near every turn....)
gamecube:havent played this one too much, but i seemed to like the babies just cause their ultimate was overpowering....
