Do yourself a favor...

By saving 7$ and over two hours of your life by NOT going to see Farenheit 911. Micheal Moore whined about his movie being rated R, and told viewers to 'sneak in,' well I wish I would have. Before I went in i wish i knew that this 2 hour 10 minute documentary could've easily been stuffed into an hour worth of film if such pointless interviews would've been cut out. The first hour I will admit was funny (and some people clapped at the jokes; why the fuck would you clap in a movie theatre, because Micheal Moore nor anyone representing the movie isn't there to hear you), it couldve ended right there, but no. The next hour was filled with boring crap. Now i knew going in the movie would be biased, and I am in no way a supporter of Bush, but sooooo many things were taken out of context and things were blatently cut out and pasted in. Mind you I can't recall any examples off the top of my head because all's I was thinking about is "when the fuck is this movie going to end." In a theatre obviously filled with liberal democrats I was half temped to shout at the end of the movie "vote for Bush" just to piss people off.

its propaganda, thats what Moore does to motivate people. He tells teh truth, but not the whole story.....he leaves parts out on purpose for effect.

While I may not agree with all of Moore's tactics and sensationalism I have to give him credit for saying things that other people are afraid to and what mainstream american media chooses not to touch upon

'Freedom of Speech' is too politically correct a term.. it should be renamed to 'Freedom to say whatever you want as long as you don't piss anyone off and/or don't go against the mainstream'

Meh.

no, YOU do yourself a favour and open your crooked eyes you ignorant asswhipe.

ps. the movie isn't supposed to be funny

pps. just because it doesn't fit into the 'america land of the free' ideology (lol), doesn't mean it's propoganda. and what? you expected sympathy that you had to stay in the theatre 1 h extra? ohh you poor thing, rofl. maybe if you didn't have a.d.d. it wouldn't have been that hard.

Ahem.....in case your not aware....F9/11 is a documentary. I don't know what you were expecting, but it said what needed to be said. I'm surprised that you "an American" can think your qualified to review this movie/documentary. What are your credentials again? What part of America did you grew up in, Florida or Texas? Even my fam & peeps from NYC can give a better review with detailed points of argument.

Me thinks you better comeback with a better review than what you posted. Atleast if you were unbiased and disagreed with it, then you would have remembered those things, you say, were taken out of context. Seeing as you can't remember, tells me that you don't understand the concept of a documentary yet. So step aside and let those that do, have their say.

But not to be unfair, Swamper is correct. We should all have an equal right to Freedom of Speech....but you should take the time to give an educated review...cuz the review you gave, just hurt your own credibility.

If you want to see Bush as the perfect president and be blind folded by what FOX news says and all the other medias, then do what TrAnCe CoNtRoL said.. but if you want to see some different point of view, and some very hard, nasty facts and some truths never exposed or atleast never debateable by the American media.. then go ahead and do yourself a BIG favour.. go see this documentary..

Posted by TheTornado on Jun-28-2004 22:39:

I think what TrAnCe CoNtRoL was saying is that he didn't like the movie... I heard the first few minutes is just Bush bashing, and if you've heard that for 4 years now, you can get tired of it. I think all Bush bashing is well deserved, because the guy sucks, but I could see how it could get on your nerves.

I'm going to see it in a couple hours, so I can let you know what I think afterwards.

Also, regarding what Nalin said, "the movie isn't supposed to be funny", this is true. However, some parts in "Bowling for Columbine" were funny. Specifically the part where Moore is interviewing one of the guys who supposedly helped with the Oklahoma City bombing, and Moore asked him something like "Do you think there should be gun control laws?" and the guy said "Oh yeah. There's a lot of crazies out there."

I already posted this in the Political Forum which is where the thread belongs:

For anyone wanting to see Moore's latest farce, here's a nice quote:

quote:

The fact of the matter is this: If you think Michael Moore is fine intellectual fare, you're not thinking enough when you watch his films. If you actually pay to see his movie, which is to say you give someone money to lie to you, I urge you in the strongest possible terms to get a vasectomy, because the world has enough idiots.
