I just watched Fahrenheit 911

I just watched Fahrenheit 911, a Michael Moore film. Its in the theaters now. It brought views to the table that you don't get to see everyday. I suggest you see it as well.

Question

How scandolous or controversial would you say it was? I haven't seen previews or commercials for it, but I have heard of it on CNN.

Posted by Jeskot7 on Jun-26-2004 11:48:

Michael Moore is always good sometimes a little too extreme left but Bowling for Columbine was pretty good too.

Posted by LiquidX on Jun-26-2004 12:07:

This movie really shows the truth and connections of the Bush with Bin Ladin's family. I hope it opens up the eyes of the ignorants, I suggest everyone to go see it.

Its exactly what a movie should be!!

Full of fiction...lol... The biggest selling point of the movie was that Bush flew the Bin Laden Family members out of the States...Well Mr. Moore should have done some more research as that point has been disproved 2 weeks ago by the confession Richard Clarke(who is known as a huge Bush opposer) who quote "I gave the order to remove the Bin Laden family members from the states. It did not go any higher than me." I'm all for this type of movie as long as the accusations are backed up thoroughly. But then again who goes to the movies for the truth anyways right? We can just watch the news for that. Just my 2 cents sorry if it rubs some the wrong way.

War is bad, and so are we who support those who make it happen.

I am definitely going to see this. Grr... if only I had time. Working 10 hour shifts...

Can you give me a source for that quote please??? Because I heard otherwise from Mr.Clark on an interview.. and I can get that VIDEO in which clark was interviwed.. so please, some back up on that.. sounds like you so made that up, can u make up something more.. creative?

I don't think that movie could be more biased if he tried. All the director is doing is trying to get people to vote AGAINST bush not FOR Kerry. Its the biggest sack of horseshit i've ever seen. Those of you who are so anti-bush and closeminded that you can't see the agenda for what its worth should do the Democratic System a favor by NOT VOTING.

What is worse? Going to war and putting a stop to the terrorism that threatens the entire world or sitting on our asses letting them knock down our buildings and bomb our embassies?

*gets off of soapbox*

If no one knows what this movie is about here is the trailer...

I want to see it.

What Bush did/is doing is wrong and he went about it in the wrong way. It's all corrupt. If maybe you opened your mind a bit more you'd see the war on "terrorism" was a continuation of what his father couldn't do.

...

the film uncovers the truth and lies about the real U.S. government.

All in all...the man needs to step out of office because he does not belong there. His father was mistake enough.

It's not about a Republican being in office that is the issue because there were few good Republican Presidents...it's just about how Bush shouldn't be there.

Whatever though, just my opinion.

War will never solve any problems. Its soo messed up over there its unbelieveable. If you have experience with Psychology and have had the opportunity to breakdown a troubled mind or watch someone do it, its freakin war. The innocent people over there now have "hate" and "wonder" flowing through them. It would take psychologists to break these people down to want only to LiVE. The army and such has no psychologists running around explaining whats goin on to all these people. Its killing, politics, and wrong!

Ok LiquidX...I am only posting a response to you because you deliberately singled my post out...which I did not do to your post but thats fine some people have manners others don't...You have your opinion I have the facts supporting what you asked for. This is from The Hill. The Hill is a non-partisan, non-ideological weekly newspaper covering Congress and its members. In other words let me break it down so that you can understand and make it more "creative." They don't choose sides...they are not part of the Republican or Democratic party... Do you see where I'm going here? Just want to make sure I don't lose you.

quote:
Richard Clarke, who served as President Bushs chief of counterterrorism, has claimed sole responsibility for approving flights of Saudi Arabian citizens, including members of Osama bin Ladens family, from the United States immediately after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Now I am a Republican and I have my views. But because I have my views I don't go around belittling other people's opinions without ALL the facts. You instigated this post and I will not continue after this post. To everyone else on here I apologize I thought I was able to make an opinion backed up with proof without getting some unintelligent(used in place of what I really want to say) response.

By The Way for everyone else that might not read the whole article, here's another quote straight from Richard Clarke to further back up my quote from earlier.

It didnt get any higher than me, he said. On 9-11, 9-12 and 9-13, many things didnt get any higher than me. I decided it in consultation with the FBI.

Whoaaa.... Do not turn this thread into the political bitching, start shit forum. The beginging post to this thread I stated only to go see the film to see all the non-everyday views. It is better to see all views before you make a decision and there is no denying that.

Oh, and guys...SoLaRiO likes peace and no war. Isn't that right SoLaRiO, i mean your holding the peace sign in your avatar right???.........

Posted by SoLaRiO on Jun-27-2004 07:22:

Agreed Breakinbeats...I did not start this out to be a political thread. I support peace until 3,000 innocent people that have nothing to do with what politicians and dictators are doing are lying under God knows how many tons of debris dead. And I don't want it to happen again. Thats my opinion. My first thread simply stated that the movie has turned into fiction rather than a Documentary (which thats what its going by). I did not single anyone out. I even said that I agree movies like this should be made but as long as the FACTS are solid. Talk to LiquidX he asked for the proof...I merely supplied him with it.

Everyone knows this is not a true documentary, its obviously not. But its about seeing as many views as possible to base and make your own decision. I dont want massmurder to happen as well, but killing more innocent people is not the way ither.

Posted by phonk64 on Jun-27-2004 14:10:

Obviously this movie has accomplished the one thing that I definitely forsaw: it has simply strengthened the opinions of both the Left and the Right.

Now the Right can point and go "look, stupid Leftist political agenda that is based loosely on fact, look!!!" and Liberals can go "look, conservative conspiracy, OMFG"

- I didn't mean for you to spark up and get all offensive. I only asked for a proof, as intelligently as it may sound. I see your points, your views, but to my view, you dont seem to really see the whole picture. Bush declared war on a country that has nothing to do with Al Quaida, nor any other connections, nor weapons of mass destruction, which the Bush Administration declared as if they KNEW and proved ( TO THE UN ) Surely that they were there. A year later, non of that has been proven, and many of the evidences/comments have been retracted to been false. Now, is that the right thing to have American Soldiers, innocent civilians to die for?!?!.. I guess not, you claim you saw the movie right? .. well, If you saw it then many of the points are proven there.
AS for the flight of the the Saudies ( including about 12 bin ladin's family members ) had permission directly from the government. As for the quating that you did with Richard Clark, I dont know what really your referring to. I will go on the link that you provided to read furthermore, now Im in some hurry.
You took my post somewhat offensive, which was not ment at all.

LoL.. well, for what I have seen, the Right wing people will just go totally against the movie, and I can see that whatever Bush does, they will just support him no matter what. Maybe this movie will have a more effect on the Light sided republicans.. and it may have a push against bush on the undecided side, but yes.. It seems to be a Love it or Hate it movie for what Ive seen so far.
