Hey guys

Here's a sample of 1 of 3 original tracks I am currently working on.
I've decided to go for a more chilled melody on this one, instead of the usual saw arpeggio. But I have still kept up the pace with a nice pumping beat & bassline

This is of course, still in progress & is not mastered as yet. There are also a couple of things in need of fixing (like the bass vanishing behind everything )

Thoughts/Comments welcomed

Link fixed, there was a typo in the URL

let's see just how bad this is...

I really like the melody, note wise. Nice, full percussion. Those pads are great. Piano seems a bit odd, dunno why. Might try eqing it more, or use a different sample.

My only criticism is the lead sample. Seems a bit cliche.

Can't wait to hear a finished version.

totally ok really, very nice melody, I wish u could bring the melody a little more forward, it is a little too much obvious bass in it, but indeed an excellent melody u got there

Thumbs up

yo bren , still using Reason mate?

the lead is nice like nic said., the pads are nice indeed .

piano seems so allone, not really fitting the mix.

i like the bass

keep us updated.

Very 2004...

The Percussion is great mate... melody is brilliant.. have to agree with subtle on the bass... the piano needs reverb imo it would fit nicer maybe
The lead is a lil bit cliche but it suites and works nice on my ears
Nice pads...sets that chilled atmosphere very nicely

great track mate! definatly keep us informed !

The lower end frequencies are very nice and full in this one, a plus there. The melody is too simple....the bassline accompanying the melody changes notes once during each loop, and the progression is so typical in trance. So nothing really stands out in the track. The beat is quiet nice though.

Stan.

i agree with the track being too simple. One work that i'd relate this to is James Talk. He uses very simple melodies and is very successful at it. He adds so many elements that make it immersive and enjoyable to hit the replay button over and over.

really good tune, great melody very relaxing

this is nice mate nice synths, nice perc, very laid back. no critisism. keep it up

I like it, the pads are sweet, what syth is that? cant wait for the finished version.

Hey Brendan

Sample you posted is pretty decent, hope you post the full version soon. All elements are pretty normal, nothing new, but it is a very relaxing tune, and I like that in it. It has a sort of professional taste, like nothing is forced, which makes it quite unique in this forum. Watch out the piano doesn't take to much room in the mix. It's still subtle..

Hey man, I have posted you in another forum, that this is amazing work....I am waiting for final version of it....

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jun-27-2004 19:32:

Can't fault it technically but the synths and chord changes are all oh so generic...

Nice song you are working on. I don't have additional comments because everything has allready been mentioned by other members.
Good luck with your track

Hi there Bren,

Overall everything sounds nice, and i liked the piano the most. The bass seems like its over-compressed or something, i dont know. The melody is simple but effective. A summer tune .

Cheers, keep working on it.

Antonio.

cheers for the support guys

It all sounds really nice and very professional but I can't say it does anywhere near as much for me as Horizon but maybe that's an unfair comparison cos Horizon is a tune and a half. Any latest on what's happening with that tune after the execution of Pumpin' Choons?

Posted by Bren-F on Jul-02-2004 00:25:

I've sent it off to a few labels woth minimal response atm wich is a shame

But as I said earlier I have 3 new tracks on the go at the moment. I'm hoping to get 1 or 2 out there with at least 1 posted on here

Sounds rather nice Bren!

I'm liking the strings and piano melodies. Everything fits together beautifully, but the other side of the coin is nothing really stands out about the tune. Probably not that big an issue for a more chilled style track though.

Is this tune finished?
