search for "index of netlimiter" without the quotes

of course, if it's just for bittorent, you could go to www.sourceforge.com and search for bittorrent++...that lets you adjust the upload speed in the program.

Azureus has one. It was just added in the latest release. I'd recommend it overall since i've tried justa bout every client out there. However, if u have less than 256 mb memory, go with the shad0w client

This is terrible- I hate the whole Torrent situation. The only way I can access the Euro 2004 Football games is through torrent files. But this is ridiculous. It's just too slow, anyone have an alternate solution to increase speeds other than limiting upload speed?

www.netlimiter.com

I had the same problem and it works great!

huh, you can set your upload speed at bittorrent it self..

i set it on ISDNslow and upload with 3kb and download 110kb

ABC program, I can limit mine to 10kb/s which gives me the chance to actually browse pages & stuff on this beast of a machine/conn

if you want, you can "tweek" your modem settings in your control panel and change your TRANSMIT and RECEIEVE performance settings .. I don't know if it would work on broadband modems, but I have dial-up (damn slow!) and i can see considerable changes.. my download speed is the same, but the upload speed is slower than before ..

i guess it would work if i am receiving something from a site, but I have to change my transmit back to high performance for transmitting when i have to upload to my website.

Haha- yeah, I think you really ought to think about investing in a cable or dsl connection. The difference is amazing- I couldn't even see myself on a 56k connection ever again. But anywho- I don't understand how you people get such a fast connection. The highest I ever get on a bittorrent connection is about 20k. Right now, the speed is at a blazing 1.1kps. This is ridiculous; usually when I download from a decent server I get around 175k and occasionally 250k+. But instead, it's taking me over 2 days, day and night to download this Portugal vs. England match. This better be the best fuckin' football game I have ever seen!

If everyone limits their upload then the downloads will be even slower!! Netlimiter does this job perfectly but you should always upload as much as you can.

if someone tried to do what i just said, it's useless .. don't believe what i said before, because i think i was tripping on something when i hit 'send'.

i don't even know why i even said that. if someone who knows computers read this, he/she would think i am a total idiot for saying it. apologies for making the comment.

the reason why it will be useless, because if a computer person would know, every internet connections (download or upload) involves both a TRANSMIT and RECIEVE set. it would not matter if you tweeked either or, because the only person you will he hurting is yourself. just invest in broadband.

man i should do the same myself!hahahaa

that's weird. From the beginning the Mac version has always had a limiter built in. When will you windows people learn.

Posted by ricky on Jun-28-2004 07:03:

I think I have a record going... I'm going at a BLAZING 1.9k per second. This is insane! At this rate it will take 6 days to download this game!

Posted by Kiven422 on Jun-28-2004 07:29:

you know, back when bit torrent came out, no one could limit there upload speed (unless they were hackers) and EVERYONES downloads would go fast and everyone would be happy (except for the problems with taking up your full upload sometimes)
