British supermarket chain Asda announced it was offering Swiss nationals in the UK free eye tests following England�s controversial exit from the Euro 2004 championships.

The company said it followed the decision by Swiss referee Urs Meier to disallow Sol Campbell�s late goal that looked set to clinch victory for England over Portugal.

Asda promised any Swiss an eye test for free at one of its 68 in-store opticians.
